You'd probably be better off not offering any money at all. 30L is about .09USD, so really not a good motivator.

Possibly will it keep away a participant to give 30L$ to subjects?

Three people said that they did not need the money among four people of the subject of the yesterday's experiment.

Certainly, motivation is a difficult problem.

I want you to participate in the experiment comfortably.

As has been pointed out, L$30 is a tiny amount of money. All it has going for it is that it's a better rate than camping. You might get people for whom the money is an incentive, but most likely only those not wanting to have payment info on file. I doubt it'd really put anyone off. I might just come along and try it out of curiosity. Maybe on RA, you'd have been better trying to pique people's interest than trying to buy their time?

It took me all of 8 minutes to do this yesterday, and I was one of them who declined the payment. I agree with Kelli - I think you'd have a better response if you explained to us more about what the experiment is, what the tool is you're testing, etc.

From what I could gather, it's a translator. Our experiment was English/Japanese, and it appeared to work remarkably well.

Once it's complete, do you intend to release it to market? Will it be free or will there be a cost? If it's to be free, then I'd think people would generally be more inclined to spend a few minutes helping. If it is for profit, then you would probably want to consider upping the ante a bit, maybe develop a slightly more comprehensive test, and offer $L100 or so to the participants.

I dropped in and would also like to say D51620 is a nice guy and his experiment is more like a friendly chat and Inded up spending an hour talking to him with it after the 10minute experiment and the translation seem to work pretty well too. It can of course get muddled if you start talking like you would to another English speaking person, but I'm pretty sure not many translators can handle that as well as a real person would. I asked him to add my $30 to the next person, possibly he doesn't want too many people too quick
