The SecondLife\app_settings\mozilla\plugins one? Given that it's under the mozilla folder I'd guess it's for plugins for the in-world browser. The viewer itself doesn't have any interfaces that would allow plugins and last I heard it wasn't even a low priority for the Lindens.

My Second Life folder has a plugin folder with this filepath: C:\Program Files\SecondLife\plugins
It could be something I made by mistake when trying to add plugins into the Mozilla one.
Darn!
Today I asked about Chinese language wikis and I got a link and when I followed the link I found out that I was already registered with it and had posted something in it. So if I added a plugin folder into Second Life's folder and don't remember, well, I can believe that.
Anyone tried adding Mozilla plugins into the Mozilla\plugins folder?

There's a "plugins" folder in my main SL install directory too, also empty. And I'm quite sure I didn't make it.
No idea what it's for.
edit: not in my release candidate install directory though.

1.19.1 directory has it as well and I know I did not make it as this is the first time opening that directory

Never knew there was a plug-ins folder.....but I do know you can plug-in sky and water settings by dropping them in the sky and water presets folders. *shrug* I'd suggest perhaps some cheat codes....like god mode or something...but oh yeah.....we're already invincible in SL.

I think they're gearing up for allowing third party plug-ins for the viewer, to be used in much the same way as the kind of plug-ins we all routinely use for Photoshop, Firefox, and many other programs. When I was at SL Views a few months before the viewer was to be open-sourced, and we were discussing the potential benefits and pitfalls of going that direction, one of the benefits that occurred to pretty much all of us at the table was the possibility for plug-ins and widgets.
