I can't get into SL right now.. but want to do something when I can =P I think it would be awesome to have a sort of 'tour of SL' with various places, the most beautiful, the most historical (For SL), the most creative, etc.... kinda the best of the best of the SL world. So that being said... post your landmarks for the places you think deserve it ^^ I'll post a couple when I get home at 4pm SLT Oh and if this deserves to be in a different forum... I couldn't figure out which o.o EDIT:: I, for one, promise to visit all that are posted

The Da Boom sim, the first sim on the grid, probably deserves a visit.
I'm a big fan of the Isle Of Wyrms (Limbo sim, among others) and the open-air art gallery that takes up most of the Blackwater sim.

Svarga is amazing, the Greenies is a mind boggling build, and there are a few automated tours of the grid. The Galleries of Second Life has a wearable HUD you can use to TP to the galleries inworld. CRESCENT MOON MUSEUM is probably the oldest art gallery/museum I know of. The thing is that things change from week to week, so the 'oldest' things are gone. Gov Linden's House and the Ivory Tower of Prims are a constant, but lots change..fast. LOL K that museum is gone, very sad, it housed years worth of original art. Anyway SL Historical Museum is still up and running. I will post some amazing places I know, no guarantees they are still up, grin... http://slurl.com/secondlife/Greenies%20Home%20Rezzable/145/17/22http://slurl.com/secondlife/Amsterdam/179/155/25http://slurl.com/secondlife/Kirkby/220/207/24http://slurl.com/secondlife/Drymonia/169/27/252http://slurl.com/secondlife/Wakeley/50/70/147http://slurl.com/secondlife/Galaxy%20AFT/62/42/22http://slurl.com/secondlife/Vassar/178/91/25http://slurl.com/secondlife/Voss/184/204/87http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cryphia/144/110/29Just cut and paste them into a web browser when you have SL running, they will TP you there. Have fun, they are all 'PG' rated btw...nothing too crazy

I love to explore and have put together a collection of landmarks for the most interesting locations I have found in SL over the last 3 years. They are in a free box on the vendor wall at my store in Shona.

The most incredible sim I've been on lately was Bedrock! I can't get in-world right now, but you can search Places for Bedrock and it'll pop up. Take your time with this one, there's a lot to see and marvel over

Damamia - a must see for its imaginative, creative building - like a futiristic interpretation of art nouveau in white marble and shiny gold. Covers an island of 2 sims. Dresden Gallery - a simply mindboggling virtual version of the simply mindboggling real gallery in the German city of Dresden. Any of the main Linden Sandboxes - Chaotic surreality with the added edge of roaming griefers. Salvador Dali meets Burning Man meets Junkyard meets Star Trek!! Linden Village. The place we should all visit at least once - the capital of SL with some nice stone stairways leading to a classical building on the hilltop. Also, I wonder if there any preserved casinos, kept as part of SL's heritage, although obviously with the gambling machines disabled!

Dark Eternity. Home of my favorite club. Club Necropolis, Evets 7-9, nightly with contests and awesome DJs.
Wait... that just sounded like an advertisement....
But it really is a great place, If you visit, make sure to stop by the club and also peek at Dare's Designs, the best store on that SIM!

Numbakullah (I think is how it is spelled). Also known as the Pot Healer's Adventure. It is a Sim that has a puzzle to solve, like the old Myst computer game.
The Isle of Wyrms. Go to the Cathedral and buy a dragon avatar.
Of course, have you been to Svarga or Straylight? Both are beautiful. And I also recently discovered a very interesting build called Tusk.
Happy touring

Based on Real Places: Paris 1900 Mont St Michael au Per in Shivar Amsterdam Dublin Venice Island Ancient Rome in Roma
Museums: Virtual Starry Night (Van Gogh exhibit) in Luctesa (my personal favorite) Dresden Gallery

Finding your way w SCOUT-IT

yes thats exactly what we to @"SCOUT-IT"
which is offering "personal guided tours" and adds to events with special attractions. Like in RL you can book themed tours which are customized to see great places of SL or learn about fun activities without endless searching, learn background of the places and have a tour-guide with you to answer questions.
It's a great way for both new and experienced SL people to go exploring together. We are in SL business since the beginning of the year 2007, with a small trusted crew but that is why it is very personal. We are working with SL/RL companies using our service for their staff to give them a proper SL experience right from the beginning, we have worked with RL colleges for their graduated courses and are often contacted by travel journalists to feature about virtual travel or for tourism research.
click your TP button and get your SCOUT-IT Guide Hints HAPPY SCOUT-ITing

From: Crunch Underwood grendels children is fun on the ground (bike riding ) and in the sky, some crazy people there. make sure to get yourself a draklet egg. No drakelets right now, they're bein' revamped. There's a couple other cool quests, though. I recommend INFORMATIONAL: Ivory Tower of Primitives (Noyo) Particle Lab (Teal) Texture Tutorial (Livingtree) EXPLORATIONAL: The Refuge and Expansion (Welsh Cove) Greenie's Home (though I dun go there since the roaches moved in. Ick) (Greenies Home Rezzable) Botanical (Straylight) Caves of Rua (Rua) Lost Forest of Kharunvel (Rodeo) HISTORICAL: The Man (Natoma) Governor's Mansion (Clementina) Clementina Park (Clementina) Da Boom (Da Boom) I also love to make a trip out of going from Abbots, to Cowell, up into the Lost Forest in Rodeo, hop a boat through Mohrr and Kremer up to Clementina and Noyo or across to the Ahern Welcome Area and then into Nova Albion Bay City. It gives you, IMO, the best of the mainland.
