Dance Machine & Dance Suggestions Please

I am helping host a party this evening and it has come to my attention that while I have couples dances galore, I am lacking in single dances. Moreover, I am lacking in a way to present said dances.

However, I am not a club or DJ, and will likely only provide a dance machine a couple times per year (if that). Although I'm always interested in some quality single dances.

For a dance machine, I am searching for something VERY SIMPLE (up to 200 dancers, smoke machines etc. is just silly). I'd like people to click, accept the animation, click again, receive a menu of different dances to choose from, and that's it.

For dances, I am searching for general yet flowing club type dances.

I am searching SLX and in world right now with a certain degree of frustration.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

For simple club type dances I'd suggest Akeyo and Animazoo. In my opinion their dances are more realistic, as it doesn't look like you went to dance school before hitting the floor. :p

You didn't specify your price range. If you want a full commercial grade dance ball take a look at the Intan products. You can get them empty or preloaded with whatever you want. Just search in world for the name. Pricey but very good, possibly the best.

Henmations

I keep trying to find better dances, and I've been solidly disappointed everywhere else I've gone.

They sell packs too, and premade dance balls with loaded packs. You can get some nice club fitting packs.

Dancing is about 90% of my SL experience. I pay -very close attention- to what dances a club offers. I'm very picky. And I've not found anyone I like other than Henmations. There are a few single dances from other makers that I can deal with, but with Henmations, I'm up to liking about 30% of the line, and tolerating another 30%.

- Which is, for me, much higher than for other makers.

When you say "preloaded", I think that needs to be clarified. When I purchased my Intan couples ball, you had to pay the company a fee ($500L I think it was) to preload it for you, with the dances you already owned if you thought you were not capable of doing this yourself. BTW, well worth the expense if you have many dances and are concerned about losing them in the process. It can be somewhat tricky and it was a quick turn-around for them to accomplish this (a few hours when I had it done).

My questions is do they now offer a ball which comes with an assortment of dances preloaded in it already? I think I remember seeing that there was one that came with a couple of them, but certainly not enough for anyone to make use of it for a club situation.

Hi, Elora! I can't remember the vendor, but they were offering preloaded ones with 25-30 club dances for about L$8000-L$10000, and empty Intans for L$2000. They were one of the first names to come up in Search in world. I bought the empty one and had Cheree Bury adapt a couple of dance animations such that I could just drag them into the ball. I think she charged me L$50 per dance since I gave them to her one at a time, and not a large bunch at once.

Akeyo is amazing. I'm very impressed with their quality.

I'm not overly keen the way Henmations is displayed (male and female dances with the same names so combining them in the same dance system isn't feasible, PLUS, no way of knowing which dances you are buying in the packs). Henmations is also very laggy. I'm about to head back now and try and wade through the lag to maybe buy a few single dances.

Thank you again.

Also, I found this useful: http://virtualunderworld.net/serendipity/index.php?/archives/79-Sexiest-Dances-in-Second-Life-Redux.html

Cheers.

I have a list in my dance tutorial of dance creators I like in Secondlife, and slurls to their shops:

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Phoenixa_Sol#Dance_creators_I_like

I've seen some dance floors that are unlike dance machines, chims and spheres which just make you dance whatever is on their list. The dance floors gave a menu for each dancer to choose what dance they want to do. I'll look around and see where else I've seen one, I know that Aazy's place south, Trader Cal's:

has one on it's bar and is loaded with quality dances as opposed to many free dances that aren't well crafted.
