1. When an object that is group-owned is returned by the owner of the land that it is on (or their Estate Manager) where/who does it go to?

2. Has anyone come across any store where clicking on an object for sale has taken you to the relevant page on SLX (XStreet)? I have some objects that I would like to link to my pages in SLX so customers can see a lot more info, examples, etc, before they buy.

Thanks

It goes to the original owner of the object. I think.

I've not come across this, but it's certainly not impossible to do.

i think it goes to the lost and found of the group member who placed it there.

i know there is a script to cause that to happen. hopefully someone will be along soon to share it with you.

yep i think it goes back to the original owner if returned.

it's pretty easy to click on something and load a webpage. this might help you with an example you can use for your store:
http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlLoadURL

xstreet also has a free sign thing that when you click it will open up your entire storefront but personally i think it's a bit ugly. probably easier to do it yourself and then you can have it load up each individual product.

1. As far as I know it goes back to orginal owner....

2. Yes...and it annoys the hell out of me LOL because I prefer NOT to shop at xstreet and I don't appreciate being forced to go to a web page just to get basic details like prim count.

I have shopped at xstreet in the past.....but as a consumer.....unless I absolutely cannot find something in -world....I much prefer being able to see the object I'm buying, then just a picture on xstreet. I know I don't speak for the masses....it's just one consumer opinion. But it HAS stopped me from buying things in the past. It's also relavent to consider that a lot of folks have a hard time logging on to the web while running SL. I've had many instances of sharing web sites with friends......and have them say "I'll have to wait until I log out because I can't open my browser without SL crashing". Just some thoughts. :o

At minimum you could just write a little script to open a web page on touch and toss it in your vendor. The user gets prompted to open it in the sl browser or a separate one.

Verified. I have had this happen, where things I deeded quite a while ago to a group I no longer even belonged to got returned to me by a later land owner. The item was returned to me and wound up in my lost and found.

One use for the SL/Website hook-up is where there are lots of textures, such as an Art Gallery. The textures in the galery can take ages to rezz, especially at weekends, and the viewing experience is poor for the customer.

So, I am thinking of only having low-res images in the store (thumbnails), which, when clicked, will take you to the website showing the high-res images, and where you can also pay and have them delivered in world, or pay the vendor inworld. The external link is just so the customer can see high-res images which would lag like crazy inworld.

1. lost and found in their inventory - unless it is no transfer and then it's gone gone gone.

2. i'd hate that, because at least on my old compy, opening a browser or even beginning to, stalled/crashed my SL. yes it would be a yes/no option, but sometimes even that seemed annoying and/or crashed SL if i had clicked something simultaneously or a group announcement came in simultaneously etc. no way to know it would happen because i hadn't chosen that.

in other words let them click something on purpose if they want to buy on SLX, don't have a pop up come up asking them to go, or showing them the option, when they are trying to buy it in store.

make it a separate sign/vendor option. .02
