Hullo!

Can anyone recommend somewhere to find really good SAM Broadcaster tutorials? (Preferably aimed at someone who, on a good day, can just about tie their shoelaces together)

Ooh, the BEST thing with SAM is when you're listening to a DJ play who wants to use SAM but doesn't want to pay for it. His or her stream will be interrupted regularly by an ad for SAM.

I'm hoping you might be able to give me some assistance as well. I'm at my computer after 4pm SL time, and I'm having a helluva time!

SAM is a good program, however I prefer to use OTSDJ (AKA OTSAV). A bit pricier, but you get what you pay for. Scripting in SAM just isn't as intuitive, however it does have some real nice features.

Also - for those that don't have a fairly new computer system, don't use SAM on the same computer when running SL - Resources-wize you will eventually buffer and have people yelling "what happened to the music!!!" (Not good when you're getting paid for the gig). Buy a cheap computer for broadcasting purposes only and run sl on your regular pc.

DJs can't connect? make sure they type the password in. Sometimes cutting and pasting adds a blank space. Is the new server shoutcast, or ACC? Make sure you have the encoder setup properly for the type of server.

I'm sure you have already checked these items, but best to mention them again just in case.

Oh... one last comment/suggestion/question - is the server turned on?

Bit late on this one maybe, because I was a bit slow making the connection between SAM and music
