There was a thread a few pages ago mentioning that you can disable other peoples facelight, like you can disable particles, can someone PLEASE clue me in on this? Thanks!

You can do that if you're on the 1.21 viewer. Ctrl-Alt-D to get the Advanced menu, then under Advanced->Rendering you'll see Attached Lights and Attached Particles at the bottom.

the nice thing about those is it only turns off the ones that are attached

so you will still see local lights in builds and particles from stuff that is not attached to avatars (ie snow)

the down side is, it turns off anything attached to yourself as well hehe

Hmmm. Time to script a facelight that follows you around instead of being worn.

And make it some sort of over-the-top cutesy thing that looks as if it's always grinning at you... might as well be fun to look at. :D

you can try to set in the edit -> preferences -> Graphics

If you checked "Custom" checkbox, there's an option "Max Particle Counts". Try to slide it down. After I found about this option, I slide it down to 0 when I'm in crowded places. It even reduce the blings too.

Aaah we need an option so that dynamic lights sources can be restricted to group.

The facelight tends to be floating near the face, not on the face. So punching the face will not turn off the other's face lights. It will, though, cause the bruising to show up nicely.

Granted if the question was about how to turn off someone else's lights (instead of specifically "face llights";), or something like that, a good swift punch to the face could work.

Odd, I've had my lights put out that way more than once
