OK guys - I was lurking some place a while ago, and overheard a group of people on voice. One of them was talking to another one as if the first person knew where the second one's camera was (he was doing some maneuvering with it).
I may have misunderstood.
But in case I didn't....is there some trick, some setting, some item you can buy, that allows you to "see" (or otherwise find out) where other peoples' cameras are, if they're roaming around? If so, can you determine who a particular roaming camera belongs to?

1. Yes - Client menu / Avatar / Show Look At 2. No
Might be Character instead of Avatar.

wearing a scripted attachment that covers most of your avatar that identifies who clicked you is a good start.

Although I imagine the intent of this to be a question of privacy, it made me think of something quite different, and I wonder if anybody would find it useful (or if, for that matter, somebody has already scripted it). The thought: It would be very possible for two cooperating avatars to "slave" their cams to each other, most readily achieved by each wearing an attachment. The scripting is actually pretty straightforward (although the cam functions have some little glitches--some with workarounds, some not). So the idea would be that two (or more) avatars could explore together and "see" through each other's "eyes" on demand. Would anybody want such functionality? Or, do folks do this all the time already and I've just never known about it?

Right now we hovertip over which one you want to talk about to get it's name, then walk up and put your nose to it, edit it so your arm points and hope they are using a viewer that shows the editing dots and say, "What do you think of the second from the left on the bottom?"

Just wanted to point that "Show Look At" usually indicates the camera position, but it doesn't have to (also means that the absence of crosses other than your own doesn't mean that someone isn't peeking).
For instance, with the official viewer Ctrl-Alt-Shift camming will move the camera anywhere you want but it won't update the look-at point as you cam around.

The students could get a first hand view of how the teacher fluidly moves the camera while building. Often this is one of the hardest concepts for those new to 3D to grasp, and it's the single most important concept there is for 3D modeling. Also, the teacher could easily showcase any specific parts of students' works that merit praise or criticism.
