I used to be able to do this easily. Then I was out of SL for many months. Now I'm back creating my own things again and in the Properties of my item(s) when I uncheck Resell/Give Away, then uncheck Copy, it rechecks Resell/Give Away and the item becomes transferrable (I've been sending it to my SL/RL partner and he sees no copy/no mod, but it IS transferrable on his end). I must have missed some change or something, can someone assist in my education?

K, with the help of my partner, I think I've answered my own question. It would appear you can either make things no mod/no transfer or no mod/no copy but not all 3. If that is incorrect, I would appreciate someone letting me know! Thank you!

You are correct, you can't make it all 3, at least not without fancy embedding of other things.
What is your reason for wanting to do this? |

Just to try and safeguard my creations, that's all. I just remember last time I had created things I could do that and figured that way people couldn't do anything with them but wear them/use them!
Thank you!_____________________

Linden Lab from the start deliberately made it so that everything in SL behaved either like licensed software (you can make all the copies you want, but can't give it away) or real objects (you can keep people from copying it, but only if you let them give it away).

It's evil to take away all perms. Plus no one would want whatever you make.

Thank you!The permissions system is deceptive, it's more complicated than it seems. What you're suggesting has nothing to do with safeguarding your creation. The serious tools that rip off creations just depend on being able to see the items. |

If you have prim items, just create a script in it and set that to no mod/copy/no transfer but as has been said, it won't stop it being copied and I won't buy it if the prim part itself is no modify.
I won't buy it with resize scripts either unless I really must have it and I probably don't. (Not just your items, but in general). Use them by all means for people that can't right click, edit and drag a handle but leave prims modify please. |
