I have been getting reports lately of bots showing up and bouncing campers off my demo poles. Before I get a lot of flames from the anti-camper crowd I have several of my products set in campiing mode to act as demos, its on my private sim and no one else is effected by them. They serve a useful purpose to me and as there are only three of them its not like AI am trying to game traffic.
Does anyone know how these bots are bouncing people off and what can be done to prevent this?

I manage the Money Island SIM and have seen *alot* of bots in my time. Some talk in IM and also open chat, some have elaborate pictures, picks and groups attached to them but I have never seen any that can unseat an avatar from a prim. If your pole ejects an avatar after a certain amount of time and they are trying to re-sit, it is possible that they are being beaten. This happens all the time. I think your going to have to ask more questions of the people using the poles.

I do have them set to unseat after a certain pay limit is reached but this is not what is happening. The few regualr campers I have are usually online and chatting with eachother when a bot shows up and all get bounced off together. This has occured serveral time just recently. I have heard reports of an unsit exploits in the past but thought that had been cleared up.

JulieAnne How do we recognise a bot if it looks and chats and has a profile much like anyone's av? Thanks, -- Aes

Thanks, -- Aes Granted, its not easy but if they talk to you they usually repeat themselfs if you ask them the same question. There is one bot that I know when you say "Hi", the response is always "Well Hello There." Its exactly the same response, but for me the tell tale mark is the period after "There". There are other tricks, that I hate to make public. For the bot owners its really not just the money (for some it is), its the challenge of how long can I go without being caught. For them, that the excitement. Oh, there are even bots that know when I'm within 96 meters of them and leave. lol, to Ban those, you have to do it from long distance. JulieAnne

Possibly your campers or alts could use SLProxy while camping and see if it gives any clues as to what is causing them to unsit.

Yeah this is very odd. When you're sitting on a (non-physical) object, you cease to be physical yourself, so none of the typical pushing methods will work to eject you. It does sound like some kind of exploit if people are indeed being forcibly unseated. Are scripts enabled?

From: Wildefire Walcott Are scripts enabled? Actually, that is a good question. In my environment, scripts are NOT enabled. I would be interested in hearing the answer. JulieAnne

Are they accepting inventory offers from the bots?

I wonder if it is possible that the bot client is spoofing a packet to send an unsit request to the sim as if it was coming from the camper themselves.

Packet spoof to unsit you ??? Yes that can work.
A similar one is where the attacker touches your HUD to fire your own blue menus at you. This happened to me at Linden Weapons Testing sim. The other person was using a hax client to spoof me.
