Uh...... try linking something that you just built. It comes up with different creators (when you just built it!) and wont let you link. So I decided to rez a plane and go flying instead. Big mistake. I crashed. I died. Or I guess I did because I still cant log back on after 45 minutes because it says region is logging me out. Oh, I just LOVE these "updates". Come on Lindens. Get this FIXED NOW!!! I have 16000+ sm on a private class 5 sim and the lag has been HORRIBLE for days now. This is starting to get really annoying to say the least.

Okay...........if y'all know me at all you know I'm no LL apoligizer. Far from it. But, I was having huge problems getting SL to work at all since yesterdays maintenance. Log on and tp somewhere and crash. Log on to where I wanted to tp to and chat was about a minute behind. Packet loss was through the roof. Linden balance was not showing. Clothing unavailable. Map all screwed up. I was pissed and fuming at LL for their sorry job of "maintenance". That was yesterday evening.

This evening the same crap. Did the clear cache, lowered settings, decreased bandwidth, increased cache size. Went into programs, SL, cache and deleted. Nothing worked. Same problem..........crappy performance and nearly useless for me.

But I kept seeing 36,000 online and even if my chat was lagging by a minute everyone at the places I was at appeared to be not having any problems.......at least now what I was experiencing. So, that old saying my momma used to tell me, "If the world looks like it's upside down, then maybe you should think about who's standing on their head" came to mind. LOL

I did a router and cable modem power cycle (reboot). Guess what? LOL.............yeah, SL is back like normal. Something so simple and seemingly completely unrelated could be the problem.

Just to tell you guys.............give something like that a shot. It may fix your problem.

once i was having a very rough couple of days in sl. everything took forever, major lag, etc. then i realised i had passed my isp's bandwidth allowance and had been speed capped to 28.8k. bought a few gigs of extra bandwidth and all was back to the usual mediocrity.

Bought a 512 parcel and had to rewrite the description four times and list it five before it would stay set for sale. And the friends list is borked. How you doing?

hmm well when i try to log in all i get is this lovely grey message saying ...Unable to connect. Login packet never recieved by login server. please try again . whats that all about then .. clear my cache and all the rest of it .. still says it ... then i manage to get in and it crashes .... day after teething probs me thinks. Come on USA wake up and fix the probs !!!!

I have been fine Post update, a change from last week when it was almost 2 days before i was able to do anything substantial. Maybe updates should be banned under the No Gambling edict.....

Did anyone else experience the loss of gravity yesterday (around 10:30pm GMT) or was it just our sim.... There I was deep in IM's standing on the top of our building.. when suddenly a saw people floating by flapping their arms in an uncontrollable way, when they reached my height, I too began flapping and swimming upwards to 300 mtrs.. saved only by my quick whits to rez a chair and sit in it. It lasted for about 15 minutes.

Peggy, thank you (and Nina) for that good advice. Of course, the problems could always be at our end, and not LL's. Maybe some of the stuff I experienced could be laid to that. In fact, shortly after I posted this thread, I logged back in to several different regions, and experienced fewer or no problems.

But not the TP bug...that was happening to everybody.

Spent yesterday evening (19:30-21:30SLT) editing...

Most everything went well except; ever since the last viewer update, every time I pan around my build to a certain angle and elevation (and it's always the same one every time), my viewer freezes for 30-90 seconds. Sometimes it locks up my entire PC and I need to manually turn off my PC to start it again - Ctrl+Alt+Del won't even work.

I didn't have any total system freezes last night, but everytime the viewer freezes like that it scares the bejeebers out of me. And it happened at least 6 times. It's not only wastes my time but it's very annoying.

Nothing new here. People who have been here awhile know this is par for the course. Every single time they do "maintenenace" or 'updates" the whole place gets all screwed up. Happens every time.

Tha's why no one likes updates or this so called maintenance linden provides cause we know what's going to follow.

Another thing even if after going thru all the trouble the op did the game plays fine, why should we have to go thru' all that? We shouldn't.
