Does anyone know a fix for this annoying inventory problem?

I asked about this before..does anyone know a fix for this.

I work alot with textures and need my inventory open , and it seems to reset itself constantly, now. I have it open, and it will just reset and go blank..like nothing in my inventory. I have to close it out, reopen and wait for it to find my recent items again..its so damn annoying and takes me ten times longer to finish anything.
Does anyone have a clue what I can do to fix this???

Wow that is really odd. I almost always have 2 inventory windows open and work between them a bunch and have never had the windows clear like that.

Sounds like it refreshes and during that time (inventory is kept on a server, right?) it appears as if blank.

Doesn't sound like it's designed to be left open all the time - probably when the server updates or whatever servers do, the connection is broken momentarily, and then it communicates again and the info is sent again, which means it shows up again.

Have you considered using a texture organiser and just leaving that rezzed instead?

I've never experienced that.

I've never seen that, Yummy. About how many items are in your inventory, and are there a LOT of top-level folders?

i have 50 k + in inventory..but usually i work in recent tab...since i just upload textures to make clothes...it just resets and says object cannot be found..or whatever it says when you search for something that isnt there..just blank..sighs

Does the 'recent' tab time out after a while and go into the main tab?

I have the same issue. Are you using emerald? Or using multiple clients pointing to same cache folder? As this has been pointed to as the cause.

I've been told manually clearing the cache folder (including inventory cache) would fix it. But it does not in my case.

Instead of completely closing and opening the window, it's enough to select 'reset filters' in the inventory menu to get the inventory to show again. (Which makes me believe it's a bug in the inventory filter code.)

yes..im on emerald..so at least im not the only one! and no fix for it? Its really time consuming and makes me madder than hell..lol

I use Emerald and I often have my inventory open for very long periods of time. I never have had that problem though. I don't have the recent items open.......maybe it's just recent items that are resetting?

Beyond that I have nothing.

Yes, you could be right..I really dont work in the other tabs because I have so many things..recent is what I usually need.

No clue, but man..it would be nice to have it fixed..seems like it only happens to a couple of people..me included.

No, not at all..when I make clothes..im uploading the textures to use making the clothes, right then. Usually Im making quite a few at a time..so, putting them in a texture organizer would not only be time consuming, as well, it would be pointless, IMO.

Are you using Emerald version 950 or later? I found this short thread in their forums, might be the same thing:

It shouldn't. I pretty much always have 2 inventory windows open the entire time I am logged in -- one on the main window and one on Recent Items. I've never had it clear, though I have sometimes logged in and found the Recent Items showing me things from my prior login.

ETA - I do use Emerald -- 950 version, but I pretty much never use 'search' on the Recent Items tab and when I use it on the Main tab, I've never seen it reset to empty.

I have had this happen as well...and even happen after it had appeared normally the prior time, but it shows things from a day or two ago in recent, *after* the normal appearing recent tab.

mine has been resetting in recent items myself..i figured it had to be something with emerald.
i never had it happen in the other viewers yet..

if yours is showing a few days ago all the time you may need to reset your filters in the inventory file tab..if i don't change mine back to 0.00 it will stay there..thats if you haven't done it already..

also they say in that emerald thread it is something to do with calling cards..
to me it sounds like they need to fix something with the connection to showing friends coming online or not..

thats the main reason i don't show my friends coming online..it would always jump to the calling card of the person that just logged in..some people that will toy with a person shoing themselves logged on and off five times in a row got to be irritating hehehehe
