Avatar Stacking

Having for the umpteenth time been teleported somewhere, arrived and been left hanging helplessly in the air while the previous arrival gathers their wits enough to move away from the landing point, and so allow me to land, I felt the anarchist in me rise, which gave way to a thought ....

Has anyone ever developed "Avatar Stacking" of this nature as a sport? Is there already a long-since claimed Grid Record for the most persons stacked up above a landing spot? Is there in fact a limit to how many avatars one can stack in this way? Or is my mind just gone off on a tangent, never to return? (the most likely answer).

And no, it's not anywhere NEAR Friday yet.

For me, going into 'Fly' allows me to move away from being 'stacked' even when the prior av is still just standing there. That's not what you asked, though; I've never seen more than one av hanging helplessly above another on arrival. I have seen some friends 'stacking' on purpose to see how many they can get to 'sit here'by sitting on one another.

Mystitool has a button that will stand you on an avatars head. I do wonder how many people you could stack...

The Camp HardKnock record is 24 avatars stacked, Winter Camp 2008. We've yet to top that, but always try. :-)

We stack faculty at Oxbridge University once in a while, but we've never been even close to 24. Kudos to the kids of Camp Hardknock!

Important fact: Did you know if you stacked all SL avatars you could circle the moon half way back to earth?

I've never been in a stack more than 11 high, and that was in Havok 1 before they changed the avatar collision envelope from a prism to an ellipsoid.

I don't see how. The average surface-to surface distance from the earth to the moon is 376, 214 km. If we assume an average avatar height of 2.1m, it would take a stack of 179,149,524 avatars to reach the moon, let alone stretch around it and head back.

Since we only have about 12,000,000 accounts registered, we're less than a tenth of the way there.

Fit them all into a telephone booth and maybe I'd be impressed :)
