there is an option on your viewer to send IM's to e-mail, these can be replyed to via e-mail, there not always 100% but usually get through. give that a try.

i'v also heard of a program called SLeek but never actually used it myself, aparently it's mostly used by bot runners as it's a dumbed down version of SL really only good for chatting. others on the forum might be able to tell you more about this program and if you can use it.

Here is a thread about AjaxLife. People are using it for just your type of application:

http://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/general-sl-discussion/14252-ajaxlife-secondlife-browser-w-everything.html

Totally browser based, nothing to install. I offer this thread so you can see the pros and cons and even a response by the owner of it.

Gnomiverse might be an option for you. I don't know it they have a web version like google chat or trillian.

Zonkster will let you send a message in world from the web, but it is one directional. They can not reply back through it.

I also found this but do not have any personal experience with it. They claim you can send and receive IM's through your phone's SMS text system.

And finally, just use your email. Just reply to the email you get from second life and they will receive the body as an IM. You can get a free gmail account and do this on the wepage. I have not seen a firewall yet that blocks gmail traffic. Also, if you are using your normal email from your internet company, you can usually get to a web email client through them. There is a slight delay but it is easy and commonly used.

I hope that helps.

You're the kind of girl we would all love to tie up and do awful things to. You have a strong sense of self and you are in complete control of your sensual side as well. Based on these pictures, I'm giving you a 9.1 - which is a VERY strong start for your first submission (heh - I said "submission";). You are a slut, but in the most positive, sexy way. Congratulations and shame on you!

Mac, there's been extensive discussion of it in here too.

I really wish that SLU weren't as combative...it would be a lot more fun to visit.

I have used ajaxlife, but will now check out some of these other suggestions, too.

Ajaxlife works very well for me...when it works. Sometimes the site is a bit wonky.
