I have a 512 in a great mainland sim with no ad farms etc that I need to sell urgently.

What is the best way to do this?

I realise I could list it for $8L a meter and have it snapped up by a landbot but this is a really nice sim and I would prefer to see someone worthy who actually has plans for it get it.

I bought at $17L a meter so whoever gets it will get a bargain.

Did you IM all the land owners in the sim? Maybe someone is looking to pick up some prim land. I would start there.

Raymond has a great set of rules when it comes to selling land fast. He's posted them many times, but not sure where.

advertise it

contact land barons such as sarah nerd

or let a landbot snap it up

(of course pick a price and set it for sale always helps)

The rule is to set it just low enough for a bot to pick it up, but he doesn't want to do that. The other reflex Ray would say is, "contact Sarah Nerd." :)

Found it. I know Raymond Figtree will not mind me posting this on his behalf:

From: someone

Good time for a reposting of Ray's three nevers:

Never set your land to "anyone" unless your really want anyone to be able to buy it. Even if the person you intend to sell it to is standing right next to you and there is no one else on the sim. Landbots are faster than humans.

Never abandon land.

Never set your land for less than .1 or .2 per meter below the lowest listing on the For Sale Mainland page. (For example, if the first listing is selling for L$8.7, set yours for L$8.6 a meter. It will sell in minutes)

Sounds like the third option should work for you.

Naw, that's the old Ray. He stopped that after getting too much flack from other land dealers.

Don't know how I missed him not wanting to do the landbot thing. Oh well.

No my rule is designed so bots DON'T get it, but a human does. It's to set it at .01 or .02 per meter below the lowest per meter price on the for sale list. That is higher than the bots are set so a person will buy it. Bot runners can't set their bots that close to the base price in case things drop suddenly and they go on a buying frenzy for land with not much profit margin. However there is a good chance that a land broker will pick it up.

My rule is to help people get the maximum from their land if they need to sell instantly. If you don't need to sell instantly, Nimue had the best advice: IM every other owner in the sim. Chances are someone needs the prims and will pay you a better price.

And thanks for the snarky Sarah Nerd comment, Christalle.

EDIT: Thanks for posting that for me, Bradley.

Another thing you can do is rent tier from the Supreme Land Ninja group to give you time until you can find a buyer who can pay a higher price.
