Unfortunately, there are many possible reasons for your failure to log in. From your post, I don't think any one will be able to help you. I'm not very techy, so I won't even attempt to try. Lately, my mouse has had a mind of its own. I simply disconnected everything after turning the puter off, then reconnected. It worked... That's about as far as I can help. Maybe clearing your cache?

Before pressing 'connect', you can access your preferences and clear cache. You don't need to be inworld. Unless what you mean is that you can't even see the start-up window (where you enter your password)?

Unless what you mean is that you can't even see the start-up window (where you enter your password)? Yep. Make sure you close SL and start it again after doing that. If you haven't rebooted your computer in a while - mine stays on 24/7 - you might give it a quick reboot, too. If those don't work, do Help->About Second Life at the login screen and copy/paste the system specs from the top of that.. _____________________
