I seem to have done something to stop SLurl from working properly for me. Clicking the "Visit this location" link or the "teleport now" button no longer pops up an LM in my viewer, nor does it launch the veiwer if necessary. Any suggestions as to what settings I should be looking at? I'm using IE8.

It was previously a problem with Firefox but not IE as far as I know.
Have you dowloaded/installed another viewer recently? If you install a separate new viewer - Emerald/Snowglobe/etc and forget to set up multiple viewers clicking on the SLurl sometimes tries to open a second viewer but gets knocked back because of the single viewer limitation. |

are you running any custom viewer that has RestrainedLife, and have RLV enabled? then that behaviour is a feature.

Reinstall SL to re-register the secondlife: helper application with IE?

No, it doesn't seem to be that. I have recently uninstalled Snowglobe, but my AllowMultipleViewers debug setting has been, and still is, enabled.
I'm thinking I may have accidentally disallowed SLurl to do its stuff recently, and that this has persisted in my IE8 settings. (edit) Tried reinstalling SL too, without effect. |

I do, however, seem to get a brief flash of the small "Loading Second Life..." window. Nothing happens after that.

Sounds like it's registered to a version of SL that isn't completely working or installed. You might need to uninstall any old versions of SL.
