I just bought a new keyboard and while it works perfectly for all my other programs, it skips when I'm typing in second life. I this from lag? Or, is there a setting on my viewer I can change to stop the skipping? Please help.
TIA

That happens to me on occasion, mostly on the first character of a new line of text. I attribute it to network speed or sim lag. Then it clears up. Are you on the 1.22 viewer?

Pep (Your "s" is unreliable too I see. )

My friend says that, "I got to get out of here, it's so laggy, I'm dropping letters!"

Keyboard and everything else is all tied into the rendering loop, so if the viewer gets overworked characters get dropped. There used to be a typeahead buffer that partially helped, but they took it out a couple of versions ago. You can try cranking down the graphics settings to see if the problem improves, but your problem may be elsewhere if using a different keyboard makes a difference (try the old one temporarily and see if the problem is still there before you get too deep into fiddling with SL settings).
