Using GESTURES to control things

Hi again,

If I use a Gesture to control something (in this case, I have one to control an AO) can I set the gesture to NOT appear in my outgoing chat (so whoever I'm chatting with doesn't see the clutter)...or...is anything that starts with "/" suppressed already?

If this is a DUH...please forgive the interruption.

Thanks,

DelMar

I have done it by editing the gesture where the chat line is. which would be your command
always lead the chat line with a slash like so:

/command line chat
Nothing will be seen in main chat ..

Edit the gesture and just remove any of the "Chat" portions that dont' have a command in them

The easy way is to see if your AO responds to listen channels other than 0... Usually /1 or /5 or /99 and such. But... If you make a gesture for control, yeah, the best way would be to set it to trigger on "/on" "/off" or something of the sort, and replace text (To the right of the text trigger) to say "/1ao on" or "/1ao off". Using a / before chat suppresses the typing anim and noise (great for live music events). Using /0 also hides the / in chat.

For gestures, it often is easier to assign them to a function key! Then no chat at all nor need to even activate the chat window to use the gesture.

But to specifically answer your question, you decide what is shown when you make the gesture, so can leave that part blank if you don't want to show any chat.
