Ok, I did a search for this and didn't have anything come up.
Is anyone else getting black textures under Linden water? Mainland, estate, or opensim anyplace I see Linden water, the ground texture under it is black. I can lower the water level and the texture is normal.
Thoughts?
Work arounds?

Yes, I've been having this for a few weeks now - got a feeling it's something to do with a user setting, though I can't find it, because other people on the land at the same time don't see the 'blackness' I do.
Hope someone knows the answer...

There is a JIRA regarding this, however if you go to report it happening, don't use the problem I posted way back, which is Linden Sea turning Black, that's fixed, find the one specific to the Land turning Black, I believe there is a link in my report to correct one now.

I've had this happen as well. What I find is that if I then pull my camera waaaayyyy back away from the land and then back in again it fixes itself most of the time. Definitely a bug!

I get that effect when I upgrade my video drivers to a recent version. My laptop has an NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS video card in. However, if I stick to an older version of the video driver (the one that came with the original install for my laptop, which is a bit over a year old now) I don't get the black seabed problem and SL runs just fine for me. It'd be nice to be able to upgrade to a more recent driver since apart from the seabed problem things look generally better with a newer driver; but since I live underwater and my property is a water plot, this is a fairly major issue for me.

Yeah, this is happening to me as well. 3 days ago, everything was fine. Yesterday I upgraded my GeFroce graphics card drivers and suddenly, everything under the water surface is not rendered anymore but simply appears black.
Is there a fix for this yet ?

No fix, But there is a small work around. Open Preferences-Graphics- and UNCHECK Atmospheric Shaders NOTE: To get these settings, put a check in the box that says "Custom" I get the same thing since updating to latest Nvidia drivers. This small work around is not the best since you destroy the rest of the atmosphere like clouds and other elements. Wish there was a fix for it
