Has anyone here personally tried reselling or commission type of business in SL? I don't have outstanding building or scripting skills to make my virtual ends meet, and am considering this type of "income". Please share your experiences!

If by "work" you mean "ripping off content creators by selling hacked copies of their work and/or charging for things created and intended to be free" then, yes.

Wait, there are plenty of legitimate reseller options, Wrong, Reaction, UK Couture, Vindi Vindaloo, Sensual Designs to name a few. They are not all rip offs.

Try and avoid big business in a box full perms resellers, many of these aren't legitimate. It's hard to say which ones are but people do make money with this option, it's just skating on thin ice. Look for deals with the actual designer themself, there are plenty out there, you can make money this way. Some take commission only, some give you a discount on wholesale prices and this can be pricey to start with. Alternatively look at a place like Apez, you can get vendors from them and choose which products to sell and get your commission that way. Long term it's best to learn how to script or build, there are many useful resources inworld to help you with this, check out somewhere like the ivory tower for building tips.

I've given up on making ends meet, not that I tried too hard. It might be done, some really talented people can make money even, but this is primarily entertainment for the vast majority of residents.
Have you thought about making furniture? That's relatively easy, fun, and I have bought it, am buying it, because I've already made some of it that isn't exactly what I need, and to me it's really more fun to shop for it right now. You don't have to rent a store to sell it - there's SL Exchange.
From furniture it's really a small step to prefab houses. Again I've been there, done that. Had more fun shopping for one.

Yes, one good thing to look for is that the product is sold through networked vendors rather than boxes full of full permissions items. Of course, networked vendors can be filled with the valueless stuff too, so a little research into the goods and their makers will be in order. For the things normally advertised as "business in a box", a good first step is to spend some quality time in the various freebies outlets. Next, visit one of the BIAB sellers, and notice how much looks eerily familiar. That should tell you all you need to know.

Ciaran is right, there are plenty of legitimate affiliate vendors that you can use to make money selling others people's creations. Moopf's skates and gadgets come to mind immediately, and Aubretec (sp?). I even have an affiliate vendor system for my flowers.
Just make sure that what they are selling is something that they have created themselves, and not recycled freebies. I think that affiliate vendors are one of the best ways to make money without creating your own content or spending a lot of money on land.

I have a catalogue vendor system that when ppl get one and set it out and sell stuff from it they earn 15%
(or if they buy from it they save 15%)
all you have to do is go to my store and grab one
also check slex, a lot of folks put them on there too
(which reminds me, I should do that LOL)

Business in a box can work IF you are the only buyer of that business. If there is even one other buyer... you lose control.
