You can do a conference chat with anyone you have a calling card for.

Open your inventory.

Make a folder inside your Calling Cards folder, and name it for the conference. For example, "Ceera RP Group Chat".

Copy the calling cards of the other people you want to include in the group chat, and put them in the folder.

Right click the folder, and select "Start conference chat".

A group IM will open, for any of the people in the folder who are on-line at that time. All of you can chat via IM together in that window.

Yes. Just highlight each name in your friends list and Click Chat/Im button

The two suggestions above will work great to start a 3way group conference, but another good use of calling cards is if for example you wanted to add another person to the conference after you've already started one, is to drag the new person's calling into the group conference window and they are added to the chat. It's much easier than restarting a new one.

You don't have to have calling cards. Heck, I don't have calling cards for anybody. I delete them as soon as I get them. As long as the folks are on your Friends list, you can highlight multiple names and then IM them simultaneously and it will start a conference.

Where I do find calling cards handy though is when you want to add a new person into the conference after you've started it. Personally I never use the calling card folder method. Rather than highlighting all the people again including the new person and clicking IM and starting a new IM window, you can just drag in the calling card of the new person you want to join the existing conference. Also if someone isn't on your friends list already, you can just get any person already in the conference to drag in their calling card and you're good to go. Clicking the "<<" in the upper right hand corner of the conference window will also show you who is listening in if you start to get confused.

Dang it! Finally...a use for calling cards. And after I've already deleted almost all of mine, considering them useless.

Is there any way to create CC's for your friends, without asking them to send you a card?

Ya it's a bit dumb that you can't really drag your own calling card to someone for instance since your own CC isn't in your inventory. You actually have to right click them in person > more > give card. There isn't really a way of creating a calling that I know of. I guess you could defriend and friend them again to automatically exchange cards.

Anytime you send or receive an IM from anyone, a calling card for them appears on your INV folder for calling cards.
it is automatic, on the other hand, they might have to respond...

One thing tho - i8t doesn't duplicate every time you open an IM session, the only time it duplicate is if you defriend and then re-friend
