Is anyone else crashing all the time today/night ? I'm using the old Nicholaz Eye Candy viewer which is usually good but OMG I keep crashing all the time and need to restart my computer after every hour or so. Using Vista 64 bit with 4GB ram DDR2, Quad core Nvidia 9800GT.... I seen Ann Otoole post this on the Xstreet forum about older viewers... Older Viewers will stop working unless you patch them or upgrade to the latest one http://xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=93725&sid=Maxi xxx

Did she say that? LL posted a patch, so Nicholaz or any volunteer who's a little more active in the custom viewer game can roll it into older versions. Cool Viewer has a very similar patch set to what Nicholaz used to do, plus some more recent stuff, and the people maintaining those builds on the various platforms are almost fanatical about keeping up with these things. You'll probably find something suitable in that series.

I've been using 1.20.17 and I've noticed a few more crashes, but not a whole lot. X2 5600+, 4Gb DDR2, XP Pro 32bit, 2 x 6800gt SLI
Thx, is good to know about the impending doom for older viewers.

No problems for me tonight with the 1.21.6 viewer.
It's going to bite when the Shadowdraft viewers stop working.

My main viewer is still 1.20.17, and up to now it works okay, almost no crashes - just memory leak in very loaded places and some sculpties not loading correctly.
Sadly, this is the last viewer that supports my Logitech G15 LCD keyboard, after LL in all their wisdom deciding to take out the support for this keyboard from 1.21 on - thanks a lot for making a $100+ investment solely done for for SL worthless.

The server change won't cause crashes and it's not out there yet, so any crashes people are seeing this weekend have nothing to do with this change. When the change does happen, the symptoms will be more like an inability to connect to a server at all, or for server features to not work at all. But again that change hasn't been made yet, so any crashes you are seeing have a different cause.

Excellent. I have not had a reason to package one up. But I will when I make the changes to keep it working.
