I never thought to look before. I always thought there was just the single cache but I have no idea at all how that file is organized. While it is possible that your alt's cache remains I thought it would be unlikely. Still ... the only way to be sure is to manually delete the file and this is often recommended when a simply clearing cache dose not help.

Maybe the alt's portion of the cache it does remain. Good question. I wish I had a good answer.

When I clear my cache and log out regardless of what account I login the cache is cleared or at least most of the time.

At least on windows, there's a single textures cache for all users of that machine - clearing it for one clears it for all. Inventory may be under a separate directory, though - dunno if that also gets cleared for all users.

Yes.

(How do I know? I once cleared Skell's cache and my 'mule' alt who carries backups of all my textures and builds had to sit and wait for his entire inventory to load the first time I logged him after clearing.)

There are individual folders for each avatar login in your cache. Those have stuff like stored IMs and last location screenshots. There are folders for mispelled logins too. I'm not sure how those individual folders are handled.

Those are in addition to the Cache folder at the same level under the SecondLife folder - rather than each account having a folder in the Cache folder.

Under the SecondLife folder I have:
browser_profile - shared by all accounts
cache - shared by all accounts
logs - shared by all accounts
user_settings - shared by all accounts
one folder per account that contains IM logs, chat logs, home bmp and last location bmp, and various xml files

And when thinking about the way 'clear cache' works, it cannot be account specific because you can start SL, clear cache, shutdown SL, restart SL all without ever actually logging an account it -- so it would have no way of applying that to only one account.
