Since the gambling ban I have not been able to find any real fun games to drop in my nightclub. The slegal sploders are ok, the trivia is entertaining - but we wonder what is out there that is more engaging to a diverse crowd.

I like best-dressed contests, or themes where patrons vote for each other to get the best male and female outfit in whatever the current theme may be.
Looking at other people in clubs is fun, anyway, and it makes people stick around for a while, to see who's won. Not good for super laggy places, though, since you need to cam around. _____________________

This is the most tempting question I have seen
You know, you have really set yourself up. I can think of a couple of games, but rather than post them, I'll just wait for the other jokes to come rolling in ![]() |

I agree with Brann. I also like the themed-costume contests at clubs. Especially if the theme of the event is something that really taxes everyone's creativity to come up with a cool costume. The "Best T-Shirt and Shorts" contests are a little boring to me, but some fun ones that I've been to include "Best Hillbilly" (at a country bar), "Best Disco" (70's music), "Best Biker", "Best Ugly" (where people showed up in things like bathrobes and curlers), and Stag & Drag (where the guys made some truly hysterical costumes by wearing ballgowns, etc). One that I attended handed out random gag gifts if you could touch a little flying gift dispenser and it announced in public chat what you won which got lots of laughs from the crowd. I won a pregnancy test (LOL) which gave all my friends a HUGE amount of fodder to play with.
One suggestion I would make if you want to have themed-costume contests is to send out group notices early and often to allow your members enough time to search for unique costumes to wear. I've received so many of these notices at almost the last minute and didn't have time to create a costume, that I ended up staying away that night. Oh, one more suggestion if you have themed events, it's always nice to have a gift box of costumes that people can wear so they can participate in case they show up unaware of the event. One "Best Formalwear" event I attended had a free tux for the men stashed in the corner which was nice so guys that just happened by didn't feel out of place. |

"Best Ugly" (where people showed up in things like bathrobes and curlers. I was wandering around on one occasion trying to find some good music events to go to, and I teleported a club I'd never been to before. As I was rezzing I spotted the club was empty apart from me and the owner, who immediately walked over to me. "Are you here for the ugly competition?" he asked I was absolutely mortified and left at once. Cheeky sod. _____________________

Parrot Bay tends to have some of the most creative contests & themes I've seen. They had a murder mystery night, best in fetish, best in Revolution (like the 1800s), under the sea, a skating party ... really great stuff and great props. I still get a tickle from the family of ducks that were circling above us for the under the sea night.

I don't usually participate cause I am lazy, but other people seem to enjoy it. DJ Filo and his crew usually do this at Nuki Nuki on Friday nights. But can I just add that I hate spankers, they make me hurl! _____________________

Track the spiking Time Dilation ... Oh yes and spot the perv. Not hard in SL. THAT'S why everyone cheers when I walk into a club. Actually, a harder game would be spot the one who isn't a perv. Good luck there. _____________________

Hide the sausage. LMAO I use to really like the themed events too, but I've grown tired of them. I guess that comes from having worked as an event host for so long. Too bad too, cause my costume wardrobe is huge. I really love trivia now. Not the hardcore trivia, but the fun, silly stuff that your average person may know. Mix that in with some dancing and some good chat and I call that a good evening. _____________________

Still sploders
I was at a club recently that still had one. No, I won't say where, the Lindens might be listening. Costume events can be fun too, even if the competition element can come down to "who brought the most friends". The last one I went to was "Come as you are" - someone did turn up nekkid. I suspect they were just seeking attention. The steampunk robot (that actually danced "the robot" eventually won._____________________

Hide the sausage. ROFLMAO i havent ever really been to a club with games. Though it would prolly make it lots more interesting lol. Closest I've ever come is Truth Dare at the hangout, but that doesn't really count as a nightclub lol. _____________________

These 'best in blue' or 'best butt' contests can suffer from tactical voting, since if you want to win, you might be dissuaded from voting for the best person of your gender as they might win.
I know this must be the case by the number of contests I haven't won LOL ![]() |

At Oceanside Bar, they often play Acrophobia, which is a word/acronym game. It seems to be a lot of fun.
At present, they use a live moderator, but I think it would be possible to create a scripted object that would do the moderators work. The basic model is: Players contribute to the kitty. Moderator gives an acronym, such as FALG. Players make up phrases that FALG might stand for (Furries Allied to Legalize Griefing?), and send them to the moderator. After players have all submitted their entry, the players vote for the entries. Winning player gets some percent of the kitty, club keeps the rest. Repeat as desired... _____________________

I still get a tickle from the family of ducks that were circling above us for the under the sea night. I used to love going to Parrot Bay, and loved their contests. My hubby and I used to go all the time, but for some reason we just don't get there at all anymore. He seems to have lost interest, and it's just not as much fun by myself. I even won a best in bikini there one night.....that was cool. I never win anything, so to finally do so was awesome. I felt like giving the Sally Field speech "you like me...you really like me".....lol. Theme contests are a lot of fun, but at some places they're basically a popularity contest, I think. Parrot Bay never seemed like that to me. _____________________
