Assuming that you have been successfully running SL on the system that's giving you the error message, I would turn the computer completely off so there's no electricity at all going to it. While it's off, open it up and check to see if there's obvious dust blocking any fans. Remove the video card and put it back in. (That's "reseating the video card.) Then with the case open turn it on and see if you still get the same error message. Once the computer's on, check to see if the fans are all running and look like they are running at the correct speed, i.e., they should look like they are running fast and not slow.
If you haven't been running SL on that machine then that's another matter entirely, and one would start with what the machine's specs are. _____________________

I'm not an expert but when this kind of things occur to me is when another program is hooking the opengl driver/API in such way another program cannot access it
or your driver is broken _____________________

I suppose one should start with just rebooting. If it's just some oddball glitch it may not happen again.

Sounds like your OpenGL installation is corrupt or incomplete, maybe due to a crash or sudden power outage. Try replacing the opengl32.dll file in your C:\Windows\System32 directory (WinXP).
-opengl32.dll download from DLL-files.com http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/download.php?opengl32download0ULhUGZJlO File Version is OpenGL Client DLL, v. 5.1.2600.2180 Note- there's also an opengl32.dll file in your second life install folder, although I'm not sure if that one needs to be replaced or not. On my system, the one in the SL folder has no file details, so I cant tell if it's the official Microsoft one, or an application extension put there by LL. |
