When voice chat was introduced, a new UI element was added in the lower right that shows global volume; clicking shows the volume sliders dialog box. I have the toolbar turned off and put the mini-map in that same corner, so I'd like to get rid of the volume control tab, but I haven't found any way of doing that short of hiding the entire UI. I can't close it, I can't drag it, I can't affect it in any way, and it covers anything nearby. Is there a way to get rid of it? If not, I'll submit a bug for it.

It is not a bug. I would consider it a feature and an integral part of the UI. I guess that LL sees it that way too.

It is not a bug. I would consider it a feature and an integral part of the UI. I guess that LL sees it that way too.

I don't want to get rid of the control entirely, I just want to be able to turn it off. No other part of the UI sticks to the bottom of the display like that. If it were part of the toolbar, or in the menu bar, I'd have no problem with it.

Not only is it annoying, but it also remains there, completely useless, even if you have all audio muted!

I have also noticed that its position isn't consistent. Sometimes it is towards the right corner, and sometimes more towards the center. Depends on whether you are on Mac or Wintel, and what size your window is, apparently.

You can't get rid of it in the client (unless there's a magic value in the debug commands list, like RenderGlow), but I wonder if one of the other viewers would work out better? Everyone I know who's tried the OnRez viewer has said it's pretty great, with a very streamlined UI.

can't even remember where that little tab is on the regular client( right side?), but the Nicholaz client has it in about the right side of the center third, and provides a debug to turn off the 'release keys' button (which is more senisbly placed next to it on the left.... this would let you place the mini map in the lower right corner w/o interferance
