Is there any way to change the view at which you view the avatar when she's -in motion-? I'm not talking about how to change camera angles when standing around, I think everyone knows that, I'm talking about the direction she faces when walking/flying/swimming/etc. Default position is set so that you could only see her back when in motion. I remember it was possible to "walk towards your screen and have the camera follow that" as some form of free script, I got it around a year ago. But now I could not remember what item it was. It's NOT the script that one of the Lindens put out on the HERE sim; that one is for movieshooting or something as it's just a set of stationary camera angles that has nothing to do with the direction the avatar faces. Thanks.

Most of the current AO script will at least let the avatar walk toward you when you press S/down, they do that by killing the default walk animation. There are those free followcam scripts around too, one you can paste into any attachment is at the bottom of http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/FollowCamIf it wasn't a Linden one, you might see if Camcaster is still out there on Xstreet, it had a couple of interesting modes in it. eta: here was that one: IIRC the receiver had enough to play with on your own.

The debug settings that govern the camera position and focus position are CameraOffsetDefault and FocusOffsetDefault .
FocusOffsetDefault responds instantly as you adjust it in the Debug Settings.
CameraOffsetDefault annoyingly enough requires you to restart SL in order to see the change.
The X direction is front and back.
The default CameraOffsetDefault X value is -3, which means the camera is by default 3 meters behind your av's pelvis.
The Z direction is up and down.
Changing the CameraOffsetDefault x value from it's normal negative state to a positive value will put the camera in front of you.
Put the FocusOffsetDefault x value at or near zero if needed to make the focus be on your av. The camera position needs to be further in front of your av than the focus position is in front of your av in order to be looking at your av.
You do need to restart for CameraOffsetDefault, but FocusOffsetDefault works in real time and might be useful to a good many people by itself.
This trick works fine if it is serving a specific purpose but you controls are likely to feel backwards and thus make this trick not satisfying for general use.

Hmm yes if it sets the camera permanently fixed to the front then I don't really want that. I only want the camera to focus on the front when my avatar is in motion, ie "walk/fly/run towards my screen", and when stops moving immediately turn around into the default cam view. I remember it was a simple attachment that did the trick around a year ago, it was a freebie too.
