:p Ok....now I have to ask another technical question to those of you who are gurus with music streaming and the like.

My brother is a musician.....and he has composed some amzing works over the years and he wants to write some music to stream into the gallery......wants to use mom's art as his inspiration. So.....cool idea.....but I don't know how we would stream original pieces into SL. I'm guess we'd need a web host for the music.....which we would then link to for the stream? Anywho....if anyone knows......?? He can record it and save it to his PC.....but beyond that....how do we get it into SL?

Just yesterday I saw this thing on XStreetSL.com called "Hermes." It was a service for musicians to easily sell and stream original works in-world. I don't know much more about the product than its intent, but you might want to look at it as a possibility for you.

Otherwise, you can try a cheap Shoutcast server.

Ok well you have a few options. If you have the music recorded in MP3 format, you can rent a stream in world (about 1000L per month) and put that stream in the Media tab. Then you will need software that will connect to that stream and play the music over it. Basically you will be "djing" the music over the stream. If you need the software and some lessions on how to do it, IM me in world and I can help you out :D

As far as streaming to your ShoutCast server, the easy, cheap solution is WinAmp. It's free, and you can just get the ShoutCasp DSP plug-in. Then you just plug in your server URL, port number and password, hit Connect, and Bob's yer uncle.

Um ok....that's totally greek to me since I don't know what ShoutCast is (I'm not savvy with the audio stuff in SL aside from putting radio stream addy's in my land lol) But, what if I don't want Bob for an uncle...huh huh.....what if I already HAVE an uncle Bob!!
