Grabbing at straws, did you press 'Apply' after checking off Show in Search?

I think it would be alright to mention the name of the group.

Could it be that the group contains some sort of banned word? Even possibly a banned word made up of two innocent words? Like 'jack's hit songs group'. Do banned words cause a group to be hidden anyways?

The group is listed, you're just running into a little quirk with the Search / Groups tab: sorting happens locally and *after* the viewer already has the 100 results. What happens: * viewer gets first 100 results (random for groups as far as I can tell) * viewer sorts results by name/members * viewer gets next 100 results * viewer sorts results by name/members and you'll see it's not continuous from where it should What you're expecting to happen: * viewer gets first 100 results sorted by name/members * viewer gets the next 100 results which should be continuous. I hope that made any sense . Just keep clicking "Next" and you'll find it on one of the following pages. (And of course makes sure Mature is checked if it's a mature group )

i have noticed that if you alphabatize the listings, when you go to the next page, a whole new alpha list is displayed, then the same with the next page, etc. etc.
but when you type in an exact match, why does it not show up as the first one on the list on the first page?

From: 3Ring Binder but when you type in an exact match, why does it not show up as the first one on the list on the first page? I'd have to peek to make sure but I think Search / Groups searches as an "OR". So if you searched for "Second Life Residents", you'd get every group that has either "second", "life" or "residents" in either the group name or the charter. The more words you type in Search / Groups, the less specific your search gets (which is counter-intuitive as well). In the example above, searching for "residents" would probably give you the best chance of finding the group you're looking for.

Thank you all Yes I did click Apply..and I don't think any words would get it banned in search. The group name is --<<< In Trance We Trust >>>-- and maybe these "-" or "<" screws it up. But what I don't get is that when i first created the group it showed up almost at once. And i see groups with their namebeginning with * in the list. I am like a big questionmark here right now... But i will look through all pages Kitty Maybe I find my group there on page 42 hehe

Cally, your group shows up if you enter "In Trance We Trust" WITH the double quotes included. In fact it is then the only group which shows up . It seems SL treats the search as a whole phrase if you use the quotes.

Yes....but thing is: If I type in for example Trance in searchbar...then a huge number of groups shows up, but not mine though it did in the beginning when i created it. Even groups with all kinds of characters shows up.

Just a thought to throw out, but I don't have any way of knowing. Maybe that "random" order groups appear in pre-sort is a key-number that has to do with when it was created. In other words, reverse-chronological by creation. Hence an older group would get pushed off the front page by newer ones? Or worse, group#1000 appears before group#999 (1<9) Really stupid, but from some of the other glitches already mentioned...makes me go hrmmm.

I just tried searching for some groups and it looks like the results are just totally random now. I can find groups that contain a very specific names but if you have just regular nouns you'll appear pretty much anywhere in the list. Which sucks.
