Change Landmark Name and Picture?

Is it possible to create a landmark and then change its name or picture after the fact? Or will it always be tied directly to the land attributes?

Here's a hypothetical: A land owner would like to set up two different stores on the same land but at different altitudes. The stores may even be rented by two completely different people. One store sells shoes and the other sells vehicles.

In the above case, how does each renter offer a landmark that specifically references his respective store?

Thanks in advance!

You can change the name of the landmark in the Inventory list by right clicking. If you want a different picture on the landmark: Change the picture on the land, then make the landmark, then change the picture on the land back to the original. That should work unless landmark pictures update automatically. I can't get in-world now to test it out.

I believe it uses whatever picture is currently in the land parcel description.

Do you know, is there any way to make the landmarks display small again, so they consume less screen space? I frankly could care less about a picture.

Looked in preferences, don't see a way.

Three ways I can think of of having two stores with the same land...

1) Firstly, you might consider a general description with both stores' info, going to a telehub. Then place a teleporter there for people to choose which store to go to.

OR

2) Subdivide the plots into two halves. It doesn't matter if one store overlaps onto the plot of the other store (as long as the land owner/land group is/are the same) because they will share prims. However, by doing this, you can have the arrivals points to each store in different parcels, each with their own description and landmark :)

OR

3) Use the classified ads feature in your profiles and put out an ad for each place.

Option 2 works fine, I use it in a plot of land I have, I have two different stores on it in the way you describe.

Yes,the landmark updates the picture with whatever is on the land parcel.
