Ok,out of the clear blue I can only read the forums on Foxfire - no button to begin a new thread or respond to a current one. BUT...I can do all this on IE. Anyone else having this problem? Or ummm....did I get banned and no one told me? ?

Firefox. Not Foxfire. Maybe you hurt the browser's feelings by getting its name backwards.
I'm using Flock at the moment which is a mozilla/firefox variant. It lets me post appropriately.

Firefox 3 Beta 3 is working ok, and it's got that nice page zoom making these forums fill the screen up without the wasted space on the sides. Much nicer on my presbyopic eyeballs.

The Opera browser is working ok.
Well not perfectly, some of the gif file icons are stretched out. Opera won't fix it I guess because they can't get to the forums to check it without registering and putting payment info on file.
You might want to clear your cache, clear coookies, and restart ff, if that doesn't work, reboot your computer also.

What plugins/add-ons are you running with Firefox, Czari? Perhaps something is interfering.
It could also be maybe something in your local cache got corrupted, which is preventing you from seeing the page properly. That can happen to any browser. Try clearing your private data (Tools -> Clear Private Data... Make sure Cache is checked, and hit OK). Then close all Firefox windows you have open (including any little ones like the Downloads list), and restart the program. It might work after that.
If that doesn't do it, try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. Do a clean install first, with no add-ons. See if it works. If it does, then put your add-ons back, one by one, and check it after each. When it stops working, then you know which add-on was bad.
If none of that does it, then I don't know what to tell you.
Or, as Suzanne pointed out, maybe your browser is just mad at you for messing up its name. The browser is called Firefox, not "Foxfire". Foxfire was the title of a very bad movie, in which a then very young Angelina Jolie took her clothes off with a bunch of other girls, so they could all tattoo each other's boobies. It's also a the name of a fungus.

Safari works great but I prefer Firefox because of the Greasemonkey thingy. I remember having problems in the past because my Ad Bloc was enabled on this site (dumb). I finally realized it and once the mini application, or add on, was disabled, everything came back to normal...

Mystery Solved
02-29-2008 05:24
After meticulously comparing all my Firefox settings re: this forum with those on IE (that was running well) I next checked out the Tools - Options settings. In "Load Images Automatically" under "Exceptions" was ummm...........SL Forums! I don't even recall ever doing that! The closest I can figure is adding the forums as an exception to pop up blockers (the line just above it)...but don't recall doing that recently. Personally, I do think Firefox was mad at me for using its name to conjure up a bad Angelina Jolie movie. Eppppsss! Thank you so much to everyone who responded!!!! Whew! I feel much better now.
