Teleporting has been quite a task lately. This also would include walking from one region to another without shooting to the moon or plowing to China.
Is there something in settings that I should be aware of causing this? Is this the new normal?

Is there something in settings that I should be aware of causing this? Is this the new normal? If you're using the Windlight viewer, it has a known tp bug. Not everybody has it, but I certainly do. If you spend more than a little time in a region, just doing normal stuff, your chances of a successful tp go waaaay down. I'm running about 50/50.

OH! let me add... I am not using the windlight viewer at all because of the land sale bug. Also, I get a "buffer overrun" error message when I buy land with windlight viewer.

I've found that TPing to a very very quiet sim and then TPing to a moderately busy sim seems to help. I'm now TPing from one busy music sim to a quiet sim then on to another busy music sim. Seems to work. If I go directly from one to another I crash in Windlight.

TP'ing has been logging me out every third or fourth TP for at least a week now, probably longer. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my router dropping connection, but seeing others having similar problems suggest it's not a router problem but it could still be a connectivity problem.

TP doesn't seem to be chucking me out unless I am going from a high lag sim elsewhere.

I have that problem since I enter in SL 7 months ago, and now happens very often. It's one of the more annoying bugs, and the fact that once you are disconnected you have to quit second life and run it again makes it even more annoying!!! Sometimes when you can't tp sl gives you a message and avoids crash... I think LL should find a way to solve this problem.

It seems that about 50% of my tp's result in freezing and crashing. I'm sure that's it's not anywhere near that high, but it feels that way sometimes. Whatever the actual percentage is it is happening ALOT.

Same problem here. I most commonly get the one where it says you are tp'ing, then it waits and waits and waits and the bar never fills so you hit cancel and you end up where you wanted to tp to in the first place, only you're flying.
Then you crash.
Then you glare angrily at the computer and start from scratch while everyone but you gets to have fun.

I am using an older viewer and have been getting more TP crashes than usual, but not 50%. One thing: I invariably seem to crash lately if my cam is remote from me when I tp. That is not the only time I crash, but TPing with the cam remote seems to push my client riiiiight over the edge.

I haven't been logged out by a TP yet... but I've crashed out a lot recently in both the RC and the Windlight viewers. Also, I've had TP's fail a lot.

One of the things I noticedwhen my download speed was throttled by ISP is that teleport gets funky. Being the time of year it is most ISP's are running way more traffic than normal, so they throttle everyone a little, because you can bet they don't lay more cables for the occassion. I have no problem teleporting at all.

What I find myself doing now is teleport home then to where I want to go. Home is a quiet sim. Cuts way down on the crashes.
