Pretty unassuming actually, what looks like an old warehouse in San Fran with modest signage out front (Second Life seems more predominant than Linden Lab on the sign). http://johanlaurasia.tripod.com/ll.jpgand http://johanlaurasia.tripod.com/ll2.jpg(You may have to copy/paste the url's into a web browser to get them to display as tripod seems to be blocking hotlinking now)

I'm not sure who all can see this but here's a link to the pictures of Linden Lab (and at least one joke picture) in Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=photos&gid=5734306922Thanks to Tree Kyomoon for posting some shots. I started out the picture group with a joke shot of a Second Life resident being attended by the customer service department. You'll have to look in facebook to find it, it won't display here.

An outside view: It's actually a pretty cool office. I've been there 3-4 times now.

These pictures explain a great deal. If I had to work in an environment like that, I would start out with the best of intentions.....Then I'd likely start taking it out on those bastard residents. My rage at being treated like some sort of animal kept in a hell-hole would wipe out my sweet disposition. Quite frankly, we're lucky to get anything even vaguely approaching service from the inmates of that monstrosity.

I don't expect we will see the arrival of Feng Shui Linden any time soon. No wonder the spaces that get made inside SL are so oversized and soul-less...

Looks like a funky cool old warehouse to me. LOL I'd love to work in that! Years ago when my good friend started her own design/display biz we acquired rental space and an old old mill building. We had one entire end of one floor......it was the coolest building! Our office was small...but our storage area was huge and we had a staging area for building props and so on. That environment seemed to inspire creativity. That inside shot of the lab is a bit dark....but I'm guessing it's the same sort of thing. These people don't conform to the norms of corporate existence Not that I feel their customer service is superb by any means, but I would be willing to bet they have competitive activities like who can build the best paper airplane and fly it farthest across the lab!!

From: Milla Alexandre Looks like a funky cool old warehouse to me. LOL I'd love to work in that! Likewise, looks far more of a collaborative work environment than the typical "cube farm."

I'd much rather work in a warehouse in the middle of San Francisco than a shitty suburban office park cubicle farm, which is where most software people work. Or even a very nice suburban office park.

I'd like to see a floor plan and seating chart, and know who talks to who.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville I'd like to see a floor plan and seating chart, and know who talks to who. The character of the floors varies tremendously it seems. It would be interesting to see what teams/function occupy what spaces. What's the pecking order between the functions? Who's near a window and natural light? Who's in the Dickensian section that looks like a large mommy's basement? Do they feel anything when they pass through the more flash reception and pass under the "Abandon hope all ye who enter here" sign? The Love Machine sets you free?
