Reminder: Most megaprims are free. As far as I know, none of the original creators of them charge for them, so if you are tempted to buy them for more than 0L, check xstreet or ask here first.
I found someone selling my collection for 900L. This person was selling about a dozen different collections. All of them, as far as I know, are available free.

people will try to sell anything, and the sad part is, some folks will buy anything.

SLX lists the most expensive products first, by default, so overcharging is a way to boost your rating without paying extra for a featured ad.

I wouldn't mind if the creators of them like yourself charged a modest fee to builders for the time it took to make them, but nothing annoys me more than people charging for things they never made and have been put out there for general free use. I suppose where money is involved you will always get those that have to try and play the system for gain off others. Anyway, really only posting to bump the thread

When the ability to create megaprims reappeared for a short time, builders (and wannabes like me) shared thousands of megas. The cleverest move, I think, was putting together this: https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=712605The SALT HUD. Over 30,000 megaprims available on request, and it's FREE. AFAIK, there are none larger than 256m in any dimension, and they're all uncut as default. Thank you, Zwagoth Klaar.

and if you happen to build something using pre-created mega prims, do everyone a favor and make sure your root prim is one YOU created
That way the whole thing lists you as creator, and you get the callback, not some poor soul that has no clue what someone is talking about because they were nice enough to share their mega collection.
someone made an awesome huge chess set, using smaller megas... I have no idea how to find the creator because there isn't a single original prim in it. sale lost (and now I have to build my own damnit)

I frequently require mega prims of all sizes for various projects and the SALT HUD is truly the most ingenious, simple and quick method for providing an incredible array of megaprims. More people need to learn about the SALT, I think, and I wish there was a way to get the word out. Cheers

From: Rhaorth Antonelli people will try to sell anything, and the sad part is, some folks will buy anything. If you make a freebie just put a note in saying you wanted it distributed for free or only up to such and such amount and that you'll take it back if you hear of any over charging. it might help some.

Yeh you can't recall it but maybe ban them from more of your freebies, or go tell them to stop selling it. In a string recently a creator had used a such disclaimer on thing he made and went and saw the sim misusing it once it came to his attention via the forums here. It seemed to work.

It's the first I've heard of it, and think it's brilliant. Just sending the link to any friends who also build

I'll have to come by and see if there are any I've missed. (I do have the SALT HUD, but for some obscure reason I *like* to keep the boxes in inventory.)

A big TY to the creator! Z The salt hud is marvellous but doesnt offer a full range of mega prims because of lindens ambivalent attitude towards them... Linden's is good at changing things to suit itself I believe a shift in attitude towards megaprims and their bewcoming the norm would be a major boost for the building community in sl... we know they can be done in other virtual world's so why not SL ??

Megaprims
05-25-2009 05:10
I'm not a huge builder, but I do have the SALT hud. What I don't understand though is why we're not supposed to use them? I've read in the forums that there was a supposed issue, which proved to be untrue, and yet Lindens still don't see to like them being used.
Given that we are all only allowed a minimum number of prims on our land, it would make building a property so much easier if we were allowed to use them. With the new servers, then perhaps more prims would be a possibility.
