Hello,

I know how to control the camera using alt-mouse/drag to zoom & swivel. I know about the arrow buttons to walk & turn.

If I set the camera to view myself from one side then try to walk forwards (arrow key) the camera repositions itself behind my head. Is there a way of keeping the camera fixed so I am walking across the screen ?

Thanks

Multiple ways.

1. Simplest. Simply use the strafe keys and the camera will stay fixed to show you from the side.
2. Use one of the numerous camera control HUDs.
3. Use the Joystick Flycam feature available in 1.20 viewer and up and a joystick, a TrackIR, or better yet, a Spacenavigator.

I use lots of cams. I've written cams for vehicles...have freebies from Ben Linden, the Bijo Cam...etc...but of all these, the one that would do exactly what you want is the Ploreho Lock Cam. It's $50L. (51 cents).

or the website:

btw, Cheree's suggestion may also be want you're looking for.
