I have put my payment info (credit card) on file today. It is showing as updated and present on the website. But if I log in in-world and look at my profile, it still says "No payment info on file" and I am still not allowed to enter a parcel restricted to avatars with payment info.
Is there a delay in updating in-world and if so how long? Or is it broken and I need to resubmit it? Or am I S.O.L?

You have to make some sort of transaction with Linden for it to show up. Buy $5 worth of Lindens, or something like that.

...which means the status "Payment Info On File" doesn't actually exist? It would always be "Payment info Used"?

I have seen payment info on file before, might just be a delay before the info filters trough from the website to the grid just like there is a delay between map, search and sim info.

ok I did this the other nite. it said it was updated but not on the profile. I then bought a few lindens and it appeared.

"Payment Info on File" is a status that only exists on older accounts that attained that status before LL broke the recognition that someone had entered data on their own website. On any new account, the only options, really, are "No payment info on file" or "Payment info used". You get the latter status by purchasing at least $2.50 USD worth of L$ on Lindex, or by paying to be a Premium account.
Fixing the ability to get in-world recognition of "Payment Info On File" status to work again is not a priority at Linden Lab. There's probably at least one JIRA request in to fix it, but they have steadfastly ignored the complaints about this disconnect for at least the last 4 to 6 months.

I submitted a support ticket and they said that they had some problem with the system: From: someone Due to our billing processor having some problems for the last weeks, the payment information is not showing inworld but this doesn't mean is not active, please try to make an inworld transaction and from that moment on, the information will display on the screen. I didn't bother. Sometime later the in-world profile finally updated and started showing "Payment info on file". |
