i have an object that i want to have 2 of at the same time on my character (an antennae), it CAN be copied, so i copied the object, making 2 of it. ordinarily, it attaches to the head (obviously), and i can attach one to say the pelvis and move it to ontop of the head also. this is fine when my character stands still, but in movement, the antennae follows the pelvis movements, not the head, causing it to jut around everywhere. is there a way to get the 2 antennae's and link them together as 1 item, and then attach it as one item to my head, thereby making it look correct when standing as well as moving?
EDIT: fixed alot of typos/grammar errors EDIT 2: if this isn't possible, is there anyway to have both the original and the copy appear correctly?

If the object has modify permission, it's worth a try. To do so you'd need to rez a couple copies on the ground and move them to where they would fit naturally together, select both and try to do a Control-L in the Editor. (Hint: might be easiest to stand on a posing stand while doing this, and put the objects where they'd look correct on your head.)
Why this may not work, even if you have modify perms: If the objects contain small prims, the combined object may be larger than the permitted linking distance of the little prims. Then you're screwed. At that point, you might pick another "head-moving" attachment point (ear, say) and live with having two separate ones.

The left and right eyeball attach points are rarely used so you might want to try those. Saves the ears for earrings or other items.

From: Juralp Grun so CTRL-L links modifiable items as one item, as long as they aren't too big? Basically. There's a limit to the number of prims that can be linked together and lalso the distance between the centers of those prims. The distance is calculated by prim size, the number allowed is 255 prims. For a single attachment you should be fine, I believe, but you may still run into distance issues with tiny prims.

Right. And it's always good to save attachment points for future, uh, attachments. But, worst case, the left and right ear and the nose will move with the skull attachment point because there's no joint anywhere between them. I'm not quite sure, but I think the mouth is safe, too, and the chin isn't because emote anims will move it relative to the rest of the head. I think.

Nose and chin work for head attachments.

For always moving with head: Skull Mouth Left Ear Right Ear Nose You're right, chin does move sometimes, but it's pretty rare unless you use an emoter hud or something similar frequently. Eyeballs cause things to move a lot, since they basically attempt to track you clicking things, camera movement to some extent I believe, and also flick about on their own occasionally. Spine and chest work perfect for neck and chest attachments, pecs move with that side of the body, shoulders move with the shoulders, stomach and pelvis are often used interchangeably, but in reality the pelvis moves more, and moves with your hips rotation to some extent. Stomach and spine are also used the same quite often, but spine moves with upper torso, stomach with lower, so if you bend over and such they will move differently. Left and right hip move with the hips on that side respectively, and all others move with the part they are labelled after, that I can think of. This is a quick rundown on attachment points' movement based on my own observations, if anything is incorrect please correct me!

CTRL+L is a shortcut for the tools menu Link command. CTRL+SHIFT+L unlinks all selected prims. You can choose individual prims in a linkset by selecting 'edit linked parts' in the build OR tools menu, and go from there. ^_^

I have yet to EVER see the "chin" hardpoint move.
I've seen the chin move, but never an attachment ON the chin.

Hmmm...I use either eye, nose or chin when I am putting multiple prims on my head...which isn't often, but occasionally it happens. I've never seen the nose & chin attachment points move. There's also the spine.....that will stay relatively centered as well. If the items are indeed modify, then you probably can link them...depends on how many prims each one is. But really.... the head has enough attachment points that you should be able to wear both of them easily. Unless you really have a lotta sh** piled on your head.

when you attach items to the eye, it moves with the eye.
