I've been trying for some time now to change the pic in my profile - it changes while I have it open but as soon as I check my profile the picture always seems to revert back to the old one... any ideas??

May be stating the obvious but are you clicking 'Ok' when finished editing...?

I'm assuming you mean your profile pic inworld. The only time this has happened to me was when I had forgotten to press 'OK' before closing my profile. Maybe you could try clearing cache in your preferences, logging off, then back on. Try it again, and if it still doesn't work, come back here.

Turn off View Admin Options. Changes to your profile are not saving if you have that on. And vote for the associated jira.

I found I had to delete my profile pic and replace it with a default blank - save it and open it again, and then it would accept a new picture. (I guess it's an SL "feature".)

That is why that is happening - thanks. It was not saving profile changes in my regular viewer, but was in the Release Candidate, so I thought it was related to the viewer version. I don't log in with the RC much and don't have the Admin Options turned on in that one.

BTW - do you have a Jira number or a link to it? I hate searching there.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. I kept picking a new profile pic and it kept reverting to the old one. I was dragging the pic over to the profile window and then I tried choosing it from the inventory. After a few tries it finally stayed but I didn't touch the admin settings.

I did vote for it but Torley's last comments had said:

"Sorry, we don't be fixing this for the time it takes -- we know it's a prob when View Admin Options is on, in which case, simply turn it off (which is the default and common behavior)."
