I just age verified my alt, and then my mum's account, too, with the ID card number-it's now working perfectly. Anyone else noticed this?

It works for me too now with the same document. I'm from Italy anyway.

their database was fed with all the submitions wich didn`t go trough, if you still have problems just verify a couple of times and then wait a few days so their database gets updated with your info

Why would you want to? An American data-collection agency (Integrity/Aristotle) now has information on you that they otherwise wouldn't have been able to legally obtain. I respect any resident's choice to 'age verify' (an objective which this procedure does not, for the most part, achieve), but continue to be perplexed as to why anyone who has looked into the facts would elect to participate in such a dodgy exercise.

I totally agree and want to add why would anyone, German, American or anything else be participating in this publicity stunt?

Anyone who actually believes this will keep SL safe from minors needs to take a deep breath, sit back and think about it a little.

I don't think it'll do anything t prevent anything legally or not honestly. But I verified.

Wanna know why?

I don't wanna be annoyed by some dumbass who sets their shop to verified only by accident, or cause I wanna go to a mall that has sex toys in one little corner, or cause I wanna (heaven forbiid) go to adult themed places.

Whats the most they're gonna do with my info?

Send me spam mail? send jehovas witnesses to my door?

I verified my age (manually, normal procedure didn't work). Why? Because I

a) want to be able to go everywhere, no matter how the parcel settings are. I guess there will be many places with owners being afraid of the not-so-clear rules about parcels settings, just setting them to adult to avoid any trouble.

b) don't want to risk my account because some griefing idiot decides to AR me as underage. Happened to friends of mine with LL shooting first and never asking questions later. Took them days and weeks to get their suspended accounts back. With my business involvements that would be really bad.

i verified for the same reason. plus they already have access to everything about me and and they can track ips if they need to. soooo what the hell. but . . having said that, if id thought for even one moment Linden Lab cared what any of us really wanted, i would boycott the verification process. its completely bogus as has been every single attempt theyve made in regards to age verification or broadly offensive content or whatever crap they are peddling this week

When I verified I could do so with just name, address and date of birth. I suspect that that is all they're checking in most cases now. I won't however verify my alts because the additional info they request is not fit for purpose.

Minors will easily get verified, it has never been about protecting minors, that is spin.

Looks like they reduced the requirement for (some) European countries to being listed in the phone book.

Grab your phone book, open on a random page, pick a name and type it in. Make up a birth day, make up a number and click.

"Your information has been successfully verified"

(Funnily enough I still can't "verify" as myself. Most likely because cell phone numbers are unlisted here)

Nope. I might be in the phone book, but my parents do not HAVE a telephone. Heh. I think they rather just check some checksum things, just like what they do wit credit cards-they're not gonna dial into Visa every time I use my credit card somewhere.

Addendum: I tried the last unverified account I have access to (my dad's, who never plays anymore anyway) and *accidentally* mistyped the last three numbers of his ID card to see what happens. He's NOT in the phone book-hasn't been for over eight years.
Now he's verified. I might go and open a support ticket.

Exactly. What's with all that bloody paranoia? They SAY it's not kept anyway, why would they lie? WTF would they DO with my ID card number? They don't even have my full address to go with that, and if they HAD, so what? Every time I fly, I get my card chekced. They could just take down my number and....do something with it then. Or my passport; there are enough hotels where I hav had to leave it at reception.

I was NOT asking for YET ANOTHER whingeing thread about why verification sucks, I was just asking whether it is working for Germans now.
