I'm trying to sell my land but can't find what it may be worth when I do searches, those are always about rental and other things. Where can I find what it may be worth? I want to quit SL, thank you.

A buck seventy five?

I'll double you. :)

To the OP. Looking at the land auctions page it looks like 512 plots are wanting $L1500 to start with........so your 4096 would start at $L6000 (in theory). Lots of things come into play though.....where the land is located, what the current "neighborhood" is like, etc. So, I'd say the $L10,000 is on the high end of what would sell. I'd leave it there for a while to see if it sells. Or, if you are in a hurry to sell it, drop it slightly below the $L6000 mark.

There are those who can figure out binary and avoid it like the plague too. :)

So that makes 11? LOL

Ephraim Kappler roars laughing. I guess that makes me some kind of big zero.

Dropping it below the L$6000 mark is just throwing away money - if it is mainland, it will sell instantly at that price to a landbot and you will have just helped a landbot owner profit even more. If you want it to sell that quickly just put it at the very bottom of the market (look at Search > Land Sales > filter for Mainland and see what the bottom L$/m is), but 6550 - 7000 will go very quickly. Using the Auction page to judge mainland prices right now is not realistic as many non-adult Mainland plots don't even sell at auction because the price is so much higher than what you can buy property in-world at.

If it is Mainland, and not anything special (ie: waterfront, protected border, special location, Adult Zoned land), just look at Land Search and set the filter for mainland and you will see what the current low end of the market is at (currently, most properties that need to be sold quickly are going in the 1.8-2 L$/m range which would put a 4096m at between 7372 and 8192 L$. You can also use the land search to filter out properties smaller than 4096 which will give you a better idea of what the cheapest 4096's and above are going for.

If the land is Zindra Adult mainland, the low end of the market there is running 4.5L$/m or so. If the land is waterfront or special, then you have to look at surrounding areas and similar properties, just be aware though that sometimes such land can take a while to sell. You can also post your land for sale here in the forums (SL Forums > Resident Forums > Classifieds )

If it is Estate land, the only measure there is what similar land may be selling on that region or adjoining regions. There is a glut of estate land that can be had for nothing but monthly tier payments (which vary widely).

I've always found this strange, but land pricing doesn't work in any sort of sensible fashion. I have purchased blocks of 512's to make a bigger parcel. so I buy 4 x 512's that are all next to each other and can make a standard 2048.

There were no 2048's available for as low a price as the combined price of those 4 x 512's.

The larger the parcel size, the higher the price per metre seems to get. I can understand this for waterfront full sims as those outer parcels still get premium prices but I've never understood this for your average inland parcel.
