Attaching & Detaching an Animation Override

I have an AO that I like to use. It causes problems in some sims, so I detach it there. I wondered if it is possible to create a gesture or ? to quickly attach and detach....something like "/on" or "/off"......

I know you can create gestures, and there seems to be a fairly versatile set of commands, but I haven't been able to find the right path.

Can anyone help me with this?

Does it still cause problems if it is turned off? Because most AOs I have seen so far have a handy on/off button on the hud.

This AO does not have a HUD...I just have to detach.

Pick up a "Free" ZAHO and set it up.. Will serve you much better to just click a button.. I don't know of any Macros or Gestures that will snag inventory and attach it for you.

And it free's up an attachment point on your body

Agreed-- I use the new ZHAO II, and I've found it to be much, much easier than the old prim AO's. Plus, as was mentioned, it can be switched on and off with one button, no detaching needed.

I could set up a gesture to detach it along with a script that will need to be added to the AO device but I can not write a script that will attach it. well ... there is a way but everything will have to have copy permissions and the effort involved would be much greater than updating your current AO with a free HUD version anyway.

If you need any help finding one or setting it up, just ask.

Or just create a gesture that triggers from "/on" to say "/1ao on" and another where the "/off" trigger says "/1ao off"?

You could also tie them to function keys and not have more HUD clutter at all, nor have to reach for your mouse!

Is it your sit that causes problems? I intentionally don't have a sit in my AO so I never have to turn it off or think about it or need a hud...

Alternatively, if your poses show instead of dances or whatever, find a better set that weren't uploaded at the wrong priority instead maybe?

Is it a Franimation AO?

I had one of these...a freebie version...for an alt. At first, I wore it as an avatar attachment. But I found I could attach it to a HUD attach point and it would still work. Easier to right click and Detach it there.

But the other suggestions are better, I think. Either get a ZHAO II, or use the gesture trick.

The Gesture trick won't allow it to reattach.. Why even deal with a headache when it can be as simple as picking up a "FREE" ZHAO II and loading it up.. then good to go.. No worries just click and go on..

Now if you want to spend a bit of money look into the Huddles EZ Animator Deluxe... AO and Dance hud in one.. Start Dancing AO is off, Stop Dancing AO is on.. That and my Mysti Tool are the best purchases I have made..

whatever you do if you have paid for dances and other animations that are no transfer no copy make sure not to detach your AO with another attachment..a lot of people have lost their animations and AO's doing this in the past..always detach it yourself from the pie or menu just to be safe..

It's ZHAO, not ZAHO. I still use the original ZHAO, which I got free at Outrider Animations.

Just about every animator uses ZHAOII now. There's a blank one available in all the NCI freebie walls. I have soooo many copies of the thing, it's unhealthy. (=_=)
