Just about any audio editor will do the conversion you need, including Windows Sound Recorder. If you want something with a little more power, Audacity and Goldwave are both decent freebies. If you want something very good, I love Adobe Audition.

The original, uncompressed audio must be the /standard/ 44.1k CD audio rate. You can then compress it to 320, 256, 128 anything. SL will take it (and I think it recompresses it on upload anyway). More than likely your MP3 files when uncompressed are like 22k or even 11k files. I've found some off the net like that and they will not upload. So still you need a wave editor to convert the native sample rate from 11k or 22k or 96k or whatever it is to 44.1k, then compress as MP3 at any bitrate and it will upload...

Apple Quicktime is free for Mac or PC. It will open most sound files and allow you to "export" into the .Wav format that SL accepts.

yes the 352 wav file is the only file I have, so I only have the compressed version, so I changed it to a wma file with lossless compression then back to the wav file at 16bit, seems to work
Now to make it louder

Oops, sorry, yes only raw wave files sorry, brain fart :/ SL compresses it on upload. So only have to worry about them being 44.1k uncompressed then

windows has a built in program called sound recorder (sndrec32.exe) in the accesories menu that will convert mp3s and most other basic formats... conversion is from the properties menu

I've used Audacity for ages, it's really good AND free. And you can use it for other stuff besides SL, too!

Thanks have uploaded a couple of files and works fine now,
Just wondering if there is a way of putting the files into an object to upload as one file then taking the files out of the object when its uploaded, would save lots of dollar Thanks

All assets must be uploaded individually. You can't upload a folder, or any other container, full of files, and then extract them after the fact.
