Hi forum people.:) I need some more land(prims) in the sim I live. Problem is, most of it is Linden owned(Near the railroad). Some say maintenance land, some say nothing... but all are owned by Governor or Michael Linden. Do they ever sell any of these plots?TIA.

If its land reserved for roads, they never sell it, if it is land that was abandoned then you can get it added to the auction queue but you wont get them to sell it to you direct unless you surround it on at least three sides.

Its not such a bad thing, at least no one has put up a Huge club and lagged you out of buisness. I would think the land you currently have would be very valuable due to the lack of huge Lag events.

Yeah it is pretty much lag free now that I think about it. I have a couple of neighbors selling their plots, but they want just plain silly amounts fo their land. (They have been for sale for months now...)Also I can only go up to 2048 or it puts me in the $75 tier.(Both lands for sale are 4096) Oh well,I better just get rid of some useless prims laying around and suck it up.:)

IM your neighbors and see if they will divide a plot for you and reduce the price. Also check with your other neighbors who don't have their land for sale. Maybe someone is considering it but has not set it for sale yet.

A lot of people have their land for sale at silly prices for one of two reasons:

1) every once in a blue moon somone will buy their land anyway

2) it is free advertising if they have a buisness

You can always IM them, send a notecard or ask if they are willing to settle for a more realistic price.

I didn't want to seem pushy. I already talked one neighbor down by $5000 for his 1024 plot, lol.:o But I will ask the one who has 4096 if he will divide it.

Now there are two 512 plots, one for 50,000:rolleyes: and the other for 15,000.

I have to wonder,do these people who jack the prices up so high really believe the land is going to sell? Why would anyone sane pay 50,000 for a 512 plot?

I never thought of number 2. These overpriced places do in fact have businesses operating on them!

They just set them for rediculously high prices on the very rare chance that it will sell. No one realistically expects land priced that high to sell.

...you can get (abandoned land) added to the auction queue...

How does one go about doing that?

Sign in to support.secondlife.com and submit a ticket requesting that the land be set for sale. Give them exact coordinates to the parcel(s) in question.

And here I thought a Linden was flying around looking for these things!

There is a Linden flying around looking for these things, however there is a TON of these things out there and the backup is huge. You just speed up the process by pointing out that you would be interested in bidding on the land. (in the sim I have my store in, a peice of land was abandonded and put on the auction queue within 24 hours so sometimes a Linden just happens to be right on top of it)
