Can someone (Suzzane Baskerville you are good at this stuff) anyone please explain what this means? http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/09/19/slgarchwg1/It seems very impressive to me but I know nothing of these things and I'm easily impressed by pictures of servers with little arrows pointing every which way. Will my mainland holdings end up in Joe's Garage?

this must have been what adam was testing at sc. there were some showstopping problems with it (items disappearing from land etc), so i reckon this is a ways off from becoming reality. looking at the wiki quoted in the blog, this page looks to be a simple breakdown of what theyre wanting to do: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Proposed_Architecture

They will probably charge $ to connect to the asset server or whatever else is needed besides just a sim hosting a region.
Regardless, it's about time they started working on features instead of bug fixes! (hehe).

This could be what HiPiHi was referring to a few weeks ago. I don't see the little guy George getting into this business anytime soon and being a big player in what Linden Labs invisions. http://metaversed.com/20-aug-2007/hipihi-global-strategy-standardize-interact-develop

From what I understand, Hipihi uses the same building tools as SL. Prims, Object Edit, etc. so that maybe some of what becomes standard. I hope so cause its hard enough learning the ones in SL for me. I can't shake the feeling that LL had something to do with helping Hipihi set up. The menus are so similar and the tools as well.

I think that Hipihi even says they are like SL but better. I would not be surprised if someone told someone "Here is SL, make a copy of it."
