Teleporting Problems

Hopefully someone out there in SL land can help me with my problem.

Up until recently I have had very few problems in teleporting around Second Life. Then over the last few days, I find that I can't actually teleport anywhere. I find that whenever I try to teleport, but after a minute or two the screen goes grey and I am logged off without any reason why.

I have tried clearing the cache, restarting my pc, re-installing the SL viewer, deleting cookies & other internet related stuff, but all to no avail.

It all adds up to make being on Second Life rather tedious.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to what else I might be able to try.

The PC I use is at the lower end of the specs to run SL, but until recently, that hasn't stopped me from being able to teleport.

Thanks for any help.

Usually TP problems stem from attachments or network problems. Try removing *all* attachments (including HUDs) to see if it makes any difference. (You can try adding them back later, being extra suspicious of scripted items--the more scripts, the more likely they are to interfere with a TP--but even just one "bad" texture on one face of one prim can be the culprit.)

To test the network cause, you can try power cycling any networking gear between your viewer client and the ISP (routers, bridges, modems, etc.). This often helps, but there's always a chance that it's your ISP itself, perhaps throttling traffic or just having routing issues. Oh, and if there's a wireless link involved in your connection, try to replace it with wired ethernet if possible, at least as a test.

Nah, this seems to have been going around recently. Both myself and my partner suddenly had problems in the last couple days, and we've been wearing LESS than we used to.
