Another edit. Apparently, this has happened before. a neighbor told me about how a Linden project pushed mountainside into her home and it couldn't be corrected without the help of a Linden.
Time to make use of my concierge account. Anyone care to place a bet?
Edit--The changes I'm seeing today don't seem to be just me. The height of the land on my neighbors sim seems to have gone up.
I've got a nice sized piece of surprisingly nice mainland. It's not flat, but portions of it were nicely flat.
A couple weeks ago, I noticed a roadside section had developed a ridge right in the middle of a place where it had always been flat before. I KNOW it had been flat, because I had the roadside to compare it to. But it didn't bother me too much.
Last night in an adjoining sim, I noticed a section of hillside had crept down towards the water, reducing my flat beachfront area by about 40%. I've got pictures that demonstrate the change in landscape. The area that's changed happens to be the first I bought in SL, and, an old house sits on a flat plane at the waterside. Back then, I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.
I've seen little things before, like where smooth ground may suddenly become a bit bumpy. But never actual changes of several meters to the mesh. It looks subtle at first glance, but, when I compare it to old pictures it's easy to see.
If I was a paranoid conspiracy theorist, I'd think someone with Godlike powers over the grid has been devaluing my land, or, at least making arbitrary changes to the mesh that frankly, I don't appreciate.
Has anyone else seen things like this? Where huge changes occur to the landscape? If I can prove that it changed, can I get it changed back?
