I am about to get another computer that has more RAM. I know I have to burn some of my files from this computer to go to my new one so, do I need to burn my SL download from this computer to go to my new computer?

I hope I have not confused any of you. I just don't want to loose my inventory,Avatar and other stuff from SL when I switch computers.

Thanks

You won't lose a thing at all.

Just download SL onto your new computer, and when you start it up, everything will be there....I promise :)

You won't lose Avitar or inventory. Just download new copy of client to your new computer. All of that stuff is stored on sl's servers.

You can simply download and install the client on your new computer and log in, your inventory, etc. will all be downloaded when you log in. You will have to edit your preferences to your liking again because those will go back to default settings.

If you archive chat logs and want to keep those you will have to copy them from the old computer but that would be the only thing I can think of and they are not necessary for using sl on your new computer.

If you have logged your chat history and want to keep it, I would suggest you go to preferences, then down to the Communication tab to see where the chat history is archived on your computer. You may be able to just email it to yourself and then you can retrieve the email when you power up your new computer.

Windlight settings are stored clientside too, so if you have any you made or retrieved from the web, these will be missing on the new computer. I found this out when I got a new one.
