No, not tips on organising the thing. In case anyone missed it on the status page: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2008/07/17/post164/From: someone Partial Inventory Maintenance Scheduled for Monday 7/21/08
We’re arranging a partial outage on Monday morning, July 21, 2008, for an upgrade to an inventory database. Only a small group of residents will be affected by this between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. PDT. Affected residents will not be able to log in during this time. Be prepared (some of you) to lose stuff, and to find stuff you thought had vanished into the aether.

but this is interesting, "Only a small group of residents will be affected…Affected residents will not be able to log in during this time." It seems like they are targetting particular residents, maybe Eva is back

I hope they (the ubiquitous "they" find my animated pillow, scripted sectional sofa with matching easy chair, and sculpture while they're doing inventory maintenance.

If *your* inventory server is down, then *you* can't log in. At the same time, you could have an alt that has its inventory on a different server, and that would be able to log in. No conspiracy. No targetting. Its just luck of the draw.

No conspiracy. No targetting. Its just luck of the draw. Let's even go the opposite of theory, and give it the best possible hopeful spin. Maybe Linden Lab is testing out new servers that, if they work, will help solve all of the stability problems. One can hope.
