slexchange, do you rate items you buy?

I have had some sales lately on Slex, and I have noticed it is not showing if they are being rated or not.

So my question is, do you usually rate items you purchase on slex?

Do you know how long it takes or if it is a specific number of votes needed to show the star rating?

Well I always rate items that I've purchased.... whether I'm happy with them or not...having said that though....there was one occasion that I wished I'd just kept my big mouth shut!!!!!

But I think if you can make your ratings constructive and helpful if you're not entirely satisfied, and if you're pleased with a product that you then rate accordingly, then it can only be a good thing. Having said that though... I've read reviews on a product that were so 'glowing' and positive, that I bought the product based on the reviews only to find out that it definitely 'didn't do what it says on the tin'..... and was very dissappointed with it.

yes, i rate items purchased on slx. always. and not always a 5.

I did at first, then stopped, mainlyout of laziness. Now I'm beginning to think I should go back to rating them - to dilute the self-serving rave reviews by the seller and friends, and the self-serving malicious reviews by nasty competitors.

There is no sort of information with Resident input that can't be gamed, I guess, and if something can be gamed for profit, it will be.

I do, most of the time...it just may take me awhile to get around to doing it

I always rate things I buy on SLX.

I believe you need 3 ratings before the stars appear, But if you change the price by more than a certain amount, the stars get wiped out. (To prevent people getting lots of positive ratings at a low low price then jacking the price up, I think.)

I do and even write a recommendation if the developer was particularly helpful. If not I just leave it alone, I don't like to leave negative feedback.

I'm kinda lazy and don't as often as I should. Occassionally when shopping I go back and hit a few that I really liked or really didn't like.

I guess ppl are just not rating, some items definitely have had more than 3 sales hehe

I rate everything I bought, and leave reviews if I am particularly happy with the product.

I also sell a bit on SLX, and have noticed a lot of people don't bother rating. I would guess for every 5 I sell, 1 person will leave a star rating.

Dispite what all the high minded post here 95% of all purchases never get rated, I rate most of what I buy but some things are just plain dont raise up to the level of good nor do I hate them. If I really love them I write a review. I have seen plenty of products that have huge sales but no ratings whatsoever before I have rated them.

I have written a rating up on a very new object and seen the rating appear right away.

I have a bunch of items up on OnRez and get decent sales there, but no one has ever rated or written a review of any of my products. I wish people would take the time to do it.

I have had a couple reviews, it is nice to see them, I too wish more folks would do it

only use slx if really needed to just for the fact it`s shuved in your face to rate, rate & rate, also out of that stand, i don`t rate, it`s not an option but almost manditory to get rid of it every where so just let it stackup

I rate nearly everything I buy on SLX, eventually. It may take me a month to get around to it, but by then I've got a pretty good idea how I feel about a product and what I'd like to say about it, if I choose to do a review.

I agree, it really makes my day when someone says something nice about something I've made.....

Oh and by the way Rhaorth, I love the 'Nickel Arcade' it's a very fun little corner of SL..... went back again today cause someone had beaten my 'Phrase Invaders' score ....too many im's though and I couldn't get back on top...lol Never mind, I'll try again tomorrow...

I rate everything I buy. I even rate the slexchange vendor box when I buy it. Isn't there some kind of reminder that you have to rate your items? I think that's what makes me do it.

It seems people rate stuff less nowadays than in the past.

I do appreciate the ratings, reviews and discussions, though. Even the bad ones.
Not so much as a consumer, but as a seller/creator.
I check them, and use them to see what people like and what people don't like on items, and try to improve or fix it. So rate and review stuff. As it helps to improve items

Oh another thing, if you give something a bad review, and it gets fixed/improved/solved, please take a moment to reflect that in your review.

Not a prolific buyer, but when I do, I try to rate.

While we're on the topic of Slexchange....

How are everyones sales these days? My items have never been big sellers there. Being furniture I've always guessed their more likely to TP in and check the items out anyway, but my sales on there have gone from only occasionally to nil.

still unsure what to do with the bar
actually toyed with the idea of moving the arcade into the bar heh
don['t use the bar so....
blend them together (so if you pop over and the games are gone, just walk into the bar)

I am notorious for changing my mind LOL

i have never rated anything. every time i log it, it tells me i have 400+ items to rate.

i don't think i've even bought that many items, so i really should investigate that.
